#857788 Profession calc

Posted by Ant on 26 March 2014 - 20:55

Would be nice if there was a profession calc for working out how many items needed to level.

It could have an option for supporter to work out the extra % xp you get, using experience boosters and anything else that may affect profession exp.

Sometimes it's nice to see if you have enough space to carry out something or how many runs you may need to mine so much ore for example, especially with space being so key in playing.

I'm currently trying to figure out how many ores and bars i'd need from 40-45 in prospecting and WS. If anyone knows the answer i'd be happy to hear it.

#856846 Quest starting locations need to be obtainable from Quest Journal

Posted by ComradeLewis on 21 March 2014 - 22:10

Quests should tell you where they start. I spent an hour looking for the starting point for "Old ideas, new applications." I still haven't found it either. I asked in world chat 3 times and got answers that lead me nowhere. I searched Google for it and an old post on the forums says "Alchemist Fermii." That does not help at all. You can't do /who Alchemist Fermii, or /where Alchemist Fermii.

Why exactly is it a "cool" feature to make people waste their time checking every NPC in the game for the starting point of quests?

Suggestion: Clicking any grayed out quest in the Quest Journal should both tell you the starting location and allow tracking to the location.

Common sense right?

#856758 New Professions?

Another idea: Stonecraft and Carpentry for crafting houses/furnishings, and Quarrying for gathering the stone materials which Stonecraft would require.

pet mastery---each level gives pet a new ability---ie loot gathering/health bonus/dmg bonus  levelled by being in combat with master....that'll annoy everyone who accidently click pets ^^

#794133 One handed mage weapons

Posted by Mojawk on 07 June 2013 - 12:05

This is a cool idea, and something we might do in the future to give people more options. I'm also thinking that shields should be slightly "nerfed" on rangers for better class balance. But we've a few more systems we want to get finished before the team can focus purely on balance.

As far as the boring item issue, stats on all items have been normalized while we work on finalizing game balance, so in the future items will be more "exciting" for sure.

#857484 Random Stat Crafting

Posted by ernzor on 25 March 2014 - 22:19

Copied from my post in the Gear Discussion Thread

They could make crafted items have a "Stat Amount" number and you could then either make an item (armor, weapon etc) from the blueprints/diagrams whatever they want to call it and that would give it the stats they have at the moment. Or you could choose to make it in a random way. The total stat amount would the be randomly put into the item (into the stats that should be in the item but in a random way.

So looking at a Greatsword of Justice for example.

A diagram version would end up with:

33 vit

65 melee

65 focus

Then if you chose the other route you would have 163 pts that would go randomly into the slots so something like:

40 vit

80 melee

43 focus

That would of course be random, and you could be lucky or unlucky with what you get. Yes someone could get something VERY unbalanced like 0 163 0 but that would be very rare and cost alot in mats...

If this was put forward to every craftable item we would see lots of different point differences out there. Would also give crafters a nice way to sell their more unique wares.

#857526 Variety in Play Style

Posted by ernzor on 26 March 2014 - 01:31

This would be nice, not only would it promote hybrid builds, but better forming of groups. Keeping your example a ranger assassin group combo would do more damage through the assassins poison and the rangers arrows than just the ranger attacking.

So the ranger would have to take this new talent, but could rely on an assassin who already has 3 pts in poison to poison the target.

#856001 Suggestions list!

Posted by HuMoR on 17 March 2014 - 14:20

Any feedback towards this post is welcomed! Hoping to see everyone's opinion of these ideas or how to further make them more desirable. Any likes in support of the thread are always welcome also. :)

1) previously stated before, but increase the rewards/gains from defeating world bosses by group size! group size 1-10 defeating a world boss getting master [insert world boss name here] slaying achievement for defeating the bosses 1-100 times  with a group of 10 or less, and reward being a little more beneficial when defeating the bosses with 10 or less people.

2) a new emote!!! Master guitarist Emote-Light shines from the sky downward and a guitar lowers down into your hands and you start playing it? (unless religious people may take offense to it by taking it the wrong way, then could be other ways for the guitar to just appear or something?)

3)Eliminate the ability for solo ques and group ques to be connected. (completely remove the ability for a organized team to take on randoms) team vs team or random vs random. Too many complaints are happening due to 1 and 2 lvl 40s with  3 lvl 10s taking on a 5 man group of all lvl 40s.

4)Said by someone else,Reduce the daily challenge for ASV to weekly,or else you can get the same amount of legendary chests a week as just doing world bosses but requiring only 5 people and doing a easy dungeon like ASV.(causes too much of the wb items to be in supply)(ty mongo, neon, zook)

5)Introduce new World boss vanity-World boss vanity only obtainable by getting a marked legendary chest.(obtain a marked vanity chest by defeating the world boss with 10 or less people) and give these chests a little bit more cash or w/e rewards in the coin bags then the normal legendary chests. Make the odds for the WB vanity items rare then the current Rarity of items from normal Legendary chests. So instead of like 12% chance...how about 2% chance? (make these Vanity items bind on pickup) =If idea is chosen etc,I could share some ideas for what might be cool in regards to corresponding world boss vanity's that people might like?(keeps WB relevant other then the norm and makes it more worth it to attempt the bosses and more rewarding for using smaller teams.)

6)Locked potion bar-i posted about this during beta, seen a few post about it in the past months since release, but i feel it is still a need. As there are some situations that just completely remove your potions on accident during combat, then causes a lot of deaths when you have to run with your tabs open to put your pots back into the bar or stop to drink them real quick.(toggle option to have the ability to lock or unlock it would be best,as some prefer quick changes and just key bind pressing)

7)search bar for challenges/achievements!
http://forums.hunted...showtopic=63635

8)Weapon vanity crafting-Requiring not only quests and slaying to be done but also aiding skillers.  :)
hoping this would actually be a 45+ content to make end game a bigger goal. Unique weapon vanities, that require a scroll to learn how to make them, but also require you to slay end game bosses, and quest to obtain them and require relevant materials to the level and rare materials.
(do a quest or quest series to open up a locked area,in the locked area can be a new boss or such that has the ability to drop the scroll that requires randomized materials for it to be crafted. then requiring a skiller or yourself to gather those materials to make said weapon vanity to be able to use.)
-Requires higher leveled materials, but not higher level crafting/gathering from yourself to make them.
^Doesn't force people to craft if they simply choose not to
^Still helps out skillers who choose not to do end game contents or etc and they can make money
^Allows for these unique weapon vanities To be just that, UNIQUE by being bind on pick up.(once the item is crafted it is Automatically bound to whoever made it!)

Example: Flaming brute mace, lvl 32 one handed mace vanity
Requires  100-1000 Iron bars, 20-50 flakes, 20 fine sharpening stones, scroll(substitutes remnants) 10-30 pure iron ore.

Only used higher tier of current capped to make a example, Would like these scaled up to 45+ if it were chosen and released.  So instead of iron, choose whichever will be the new higher tier gathering materials.

9)New skill introduction! A new skill focused towards player owned houses!(could call the skill structuring, building, construction, manufacturing,Etc.) Skill is focused towards making ones player owned home more unique and special. Is a combination of all the gathering skill and crafting skills aimed towards crafting items for decor or other purposes for your house.(skill is used in a lot of games)

10)Custom Chat room control- Similar to other MMO's people want to have privately ran and controlled chat rooms/chat screens in game. Having a person assigned their own custom chat that they can restrict who can enter the chat. (F6) Restrictions by friends/or certain ranks of friends can join, ability to mute the chat, and ability to kick from chat or lock and close their own chat temporarily.

11)Chat command toggle option! Ability to toggle whether or not you are able to be targeted or used for chat commands. When people are chat commanding /inspect /where /who Etc. Should have a toggle option so you can have your privacy to play the game without being stalked.

12)Obelisks being displayed on the map! For newer players struggling and needing a bit more help, this would grant them a extra bit of knowledge as to where obelisks are. It could just be marked on the map as an obelisk, but once the obelisk has been used,it will add extra into when scrolling your cursor over it such as what the obelisk buff is.

13)Individual group teleport! You can buy a New utility that allows you to que a teleport to a marked location! You can open up your big map or minimap Etc and mark a location once it is marked you have 30 seconds to a minute to que a teleport to that location, must require 2-5 people. Would be great for going to locations that aren't close to a dungeon that you can que teleport to or having friends in that area, and save everyone from having to run to the location. Restrictions-Can't teleport into a dungeon, instances. ALSO can't teleport into any area marked above your level. Can't mark areas out of the map(obviously).400-500 EP intial cost to learn the ability + 20-50 silver to pay for the cooldown.

14)Not really sure what would be good to point on this one...but Anything to prevent more then half the people from hitting 999 ping when we are all in wb. packet loss ftl :(7HJ7k.jpg
7O14f.jpg
15)Full view or POV spectating PVP! Ability to be able to pick from currently played pvp matches and spectate the entire thing from the top or pick a individual player and spectate them. (perhaps lock the ability to chat also while spectating if it causes problems by giving away where other players are or something?)

16) Community Polls of preference! Posting polls on what players would like to see most happens often,But a slightly increased rate would be great and more polls what what portions of content people are excited for most and what people look forward to.

17) Developer Questions and background! Would be great if you peeps at HCS did VLOG style questions for the community of your choice and also telling us about yourself, your interests towards the future of the game and your role. People enjoy interaction with the team that's making it all happen, and a lot enjoy seeing the extra work done in the background.(speed art, script, etc.)

More to come!

#855062 Suggestion for Real-Life Promotion

Posted by Neon on 13 March 2014 - 16:49

It would hardly be worth it with the current population, for such a thing there needs to be a decent pop that would turn up.

Besides HCS is located in Scotland (UK) which means the majority of the playerbase (US) would more than likely have to get on a plane and come over here for such an event.

#854564 LOOT WOOT

Posted by D4VYJONES on 11 March 2014 - 13:05

I really want to see 2v2 and 3v3 gladiator-style combat, and PvP gear - ala WOW.

HCS could add an option to queue as spectator too. It will be fun to watch other fights from arena cages. xD

I have some ideas to make pvp more diverse. The arena in Nidaros is abandoned after the quest, I think we can make it a class only arena. Remember when the guy let you choose a weapon, if you choose bow, your opponents will also use bow? A level cap can be added too.

Another kind of arena can be added above Garai Coliseum. There are stairs we can get up to if we don't enter Garai Coliseum dungeon. An entrance can be added there. For this arena, you move from room to room. Sometimes you fight players, sometimes you fight monsters or boss, just like the second boss of Garai Coliseum, until last man standing.

A weekly event can also be added, there will be a big ship at the dock. If you want to board it, you need to pay a fee/ticket (as a gold sink). The ship will sail to a battleground, one large map connected with many medium and small maps. There could be fortress for all kingdoms. Once entered, you cannot chat and automatically be removed from group. Everybody will appear in vanity set, just like in Dragon Battle! So nobody knows who is facing who. Players will get assigned to different kingdoms: Fire, Ice, Light, Dark (Infernal Empire), Nature (Eldevin Kingdom) or Blood. If you died, you respawn as another random kingdom's soldier? Every player will get a different quest objective, for example CTF, TDM, Domination. But since you cannot chat to find a group with same quest objective, I think it will be fun? It has to be completed before event end. The quest reward is 1 bound repair kit (useful after world boss fights). This can encourage players who never tried pvp get a taste of it too.

#856586 New Professions?

Posted by punisher on 20 March 2014 - 13:37

One skill that comes to mind is salvaging, allowing you to get gems/other mats from items, instead of npc selling or to players, gives the player the ability to sacrifice the item for something else.

Another that comes to mind while typing this, would be the ability to upgrade items to higher level, which boosts stats, instead of using something lower level, till you find something higher level to use, allowing this means you can temporarily have lower items that have boosted stats, until you can acquire a higher item that matches your level.

#857115 Hardcore Pvp ( The Real Ups & Downs)

Posted by Grey on 23 March 2014 - 23:55

I don't play pvp a ton, but here are some suggestions. Take them for what they are worth. Don't bite my head off if you don't like something...

- Make a larger cooldown for pots, like 2 or 3 minutes in between uses.

- Expand attack range for hand-to-hand (make it so you can hit with a sword from double the distance you normally can, etc.). This would help to balance out warrior some.

- Some sort of reward for playing!!! There is not much incentive for lower level players to do pvp with the exception of a few people. No one wants to go in, die 10 times for every 1 kill they get, waste 10 minutes, then have to wait in a queue for 10 more minutes. I like the idea of tokens that can get different tiers of chests maybe? (ex. 100 tokens opens medium chest, 1000 opens rare chest, etc.) Make prizes useful to all like equip even to your level, gems, gold...

- Show players in the queue. There always seems to be 1-2 people trolling the queue that never accept. In the past I have had to accept a match 5 times before we actually got to play.

     - Alternatively, you could increase the surrender period with each queue you miss within a 24 hour or 1 week period. (Ex. miss 1 queue-1 minute penalty, second missed queue-5 minutes, third-15 minutes, etc.) and keep the tally going on a daily or weekly basis.

- I really like the idea of 2v2, 3v3, etc.

- I don't know if you can select game type now (to my knowledge it's all random), but maybe allow custom games or allow players to queue for JUST CTF, just TDM, either/or, etc. I know that this would have to come once we have more active pvp players.

- Allow custom teams - show all players in queue. Let players sort themselves into two teams to balance them. To prevent trolls or abuse, have a "veto" button every time a player is moved. if X amount of players veto, the player will not switch teams. Something like this. I know there would be a lot of things to work out to make this work correctly.

Award prizes to all players - going to say this one again because I think it will be the biggest driving force for more players to join.

I've just been typing as I am thinking, and I am out of ideas for now. I'll edit this if I think of anything else I might like to see.

#840283 Making General Loot Worth Something

Posted by Mongo on 13 January 2014 - 13:09

Most players ignore general loot 100% of the time (I think).

Maybe we use it to purchase something, to make it more appealing to loot? nothing drastic....

So 25 plague rags would become a "pile of plague rags" which we could then use at a special vendor.

Maybe one pile could buy us 1 prestige, artisan or valor point?
