tbh, many other things need to be added/fixed before they even start thinking about this

and if all else fails, it means we are being dumped by the cows

When cows take a dump, it means there's cow dung somewhere! (Also known as bulls***)

Perhaps the cows took some time off the game to play soccer or something. It would explain why so many players are getting kicked. Gee, we have prospective careers in being soccer balls.

#964139 Development Update

Posted by ZooksterGaming on 08 June 2016 - 10:06

This is quite sad to read, but I'm not suprised.. I've been gone quite a long time but checking in on updates regularly, hoping to see some of the stuff that's needed for Eldevin and would bring me back.

I believe the wrong turn was sometime after Steam release, I felt the focus of updates was simply on Cosmetic stuff rather than content. Getting on Steam was the chance for Eldevin to grow massively if we had seen more content.

It hurts to see the team for this getting even smaller or extinct. I feel like the game is so close to being complete and then able to grow. Still hope that one or two contentupdates will happen and popularity changes.

I wish HCS and Eldevin the best. Hopefully you learn from this and can succeed with whaterver you do next or if you can manage to give Eldevin a try again.

#963894 Development Update

Posted by ernzor on 02 June 2016 - 22:43

Is really sad read this, I know about some players quit and r supporting this game maybe they still supporting, waiting for the updates, i can give u some names lahara, ben, ernzor, mog,and others.

Definitely me, I am still following the game and come to the forums daily and try to login once a week or so to catch up with the few that are online.

I actually probably prompted this post, as a few hours before he posted here, he responded to some of my skype questions about Eldevin.

I would 100% come back and be one of its biggest supporters if this game had updates both in content and improvements. I feel at the moment though that I have finished (which is an odd word for this sort of game) as much as I can here, and my time can be better spent elsewhere. Dont get me wrong, I did countless hours of grinding here, and I do not mind that one bit, but I dont really have anything to even grind for any more (only TA kills but was getting about 10 a day last time I tried as no one went there anymore). So right now, I spend my gaming time elsewhere, but I would most certainly come back again if there was more to do.

I know with the small dev team, when there was a dev team for Eldevin, updates can and do take a while. Now with even less people that time is going to increase even more.

There have been many great ideas to implement that would drastically increase the longevity of the game, from better rewards/drops, rarer rewards/drops, unique drops, custom craftables, more PvP maps, more PvP modes, bring back group queue pvp, expand the guild system to include guildhouse, GvG, guild emblems and gear, and even your own level 50 and also completing the ascended dungeons. Quite a lot more can be added to that list too, thats just off the top of my head.

How about to drive some development hours and get the lvl 50 content out (and maybe more depending on how much is raised) you guys run another "founder" pack scheme, call it something else, and have different rewards, but something similar. Could even run it through kickstarter or something like that, so those investing could see what each goal would get us. To get you guys rolling and releasing content again thats one thing I could think of.

But please, dont do that if it will just go back to how it is now afterwards. Like others have said, this game didnt get the following it deserved for a few reasons, one being a lack of timely updates. If we have a couple of people to stick around to release small upgrades (new weapons, mobs, minor quests) that doesn't require huge updates (world maps etc). Perhaps even let users design things if there is a way you can incorporate user design into the game.

Anyway, TLDR - I would 100% be back if this game was active in the devs eyes

#959703 Incorrect ranges in skill descriptions (again)

Posted by Blissy on 24 February 2016 - 04:15

HC needs to hire Bri as a consultant.

She knows more about this game then I think just about anyone and she takes the time to test things out and break it down to find out as much information about skills, classes, builds etc.

Cheers Bri, your one smart cookie  ;) and I think the devs should pay attention to your posts because you have always been very informative and helpful to this community.

I vote Bri as Game Moderator and Dev for hire! cheers :)

#946338 World Boss Revamp

Posted by ernzor on 22 August 2015 - 23:30

The current World Boss loot is outdated, so why not update it.

Firstly instead of the chest with maximum 10 drops in it (depending on group size), why not change it to be like the event world bosses (wolf, dragon, PK) where everyone that participates gets a chest for the kill.

Secondly, get rid of the glims! Change the loot table to be something like 50% chance at defined gem. 20% chance at item. 10% chance at absolute gem. 10% chance at infernal flake. 5% chance at greater flake.

For the remaining 5% of the loot table add in a vanity set for each Boss, but vary the percentage for each piece dropping. So 2% feet, 1.5% legs, 1% arms, 0.4% body, 0.1% helm. These of course are bound on equip so they can be traded, and the rarer ones would provide a nice valued item to the economy for people to try to get.

Lastly, to go with those new vanity sets, add in achievements to equip the full sets so that people will have more incentive to go for them.

#952079 Just few suggestions.

43.Newspaper/magazine.In which will be
posted "letters" from the comunity ,interviews with the cows, fan stories on topic Eldevin and in generaly new stuff from the players and the dev team.I think it should be made by players, they send the ready version to HCS and if the cows aproved it ,they post it.They are couple of places they can post it:
New section at the front page.
Or new place in the forums.
Also it could be monthly thing. My personal opinion is that such thing will show the players that the cows truely care and listen to them.

#920577 TA Idea

Posted by Fizban on 19 February 2015 - 13:31

The problem I see with this is if pvp is more encourages what's that do for the lower level players? nothing. An area that should be good for all levels becomes only good when you finally reach the end game.

If the focus wanted to be more on pvp then I think it should restrict the levels. I mean really, what part of the pvp aspect is good about a level 45 killing a level ~20? There's no good pvp with that, it's only for the resources for those people.

Or the gatherers could gather outside of TA :)

#916110 Secret Tunnel

Posted by Irradiated on 20 January 2015 - 01:06

OK, seriously.  Maybe it's due to the classic feel of the game, but even before mounts I didn't find the walk so bad.  Try farming :).  Occasionally I'd just walk to/from Nidaros rather then fly, so I could stop off there and update quests.  I'd also run down there for lvl 16 foraging (that was before TA).

(Who remembers the Treefolk that hung out near the road as you got close to the Junction Inn.  Catching unsuspecting lowbies trying to cut that final corner.)

That said, I can understand wanting to make the running around easier.  If you decide to go for it, keep it as simple as possible.  I imagine adding a flight point is easier then a tunnel, so I'd go with Spirit's suggestion.  Tunnels sounds like a cool idea, but there are much bigger priorities right now.

#915687 What happens when two people trade the same item to each other

Posted by Brioche on 16 January 2015 - 16:52

A friend of mine wanted to trade a glim ruby for an item I had. Since I didn't really need that item, I had intended to give the item to him. What we had in trade window:

Me - 1x Phoenix Ashes, 1x Glimmering Ruby

Friend - 1x Glimmering Ruby

We both accepted trade.

What I got - 2x Glimmering Ruby

What he got - 1x Phoenix Ashes

On a whim, I decided to trade 1x Crafted Greater Stamina Potion for my friend's 1x Crafted Greater Stamina Potion.

Out of 20 tries:

11 times both of us got 1 each.

7 times I got 2, my friend got 0.

2 times my friend got 2, I got 0.

I also tried this with sacked resources.

I traded a sack of 90 Tattered Hides for my friend's sack of 63 Tattered Hides.

I received a sack of 100 Tattered Hides, my friend received a sack of 53 Tattered Hides.

#915593 Respeccing Revamped

Posted by Brioche on 16 January 2015 - 01:52

Right now, there are two problems I face whenever I want to respec.

1. I don't know if I can trust the talent descriptions of talents I've never used before.

Let's face it, HCS doesn't test the talents. They merely wait for player feedback about bugs before they take action.

Take Chilling for example. The description used to say "Increases the damage of Blizzard by 20/40% Spell DPS", but what it actually did was increase the damage of the spell by 20/40%. (Since Blizzard does 50% Spell DPS, that was 10/20% Spell DPS.) It wasn't discovered until someone felt that the damage was rather low and actually went to test it.

There have been numerous documented bugs about talents already, and there will be more if nobody tests them. However, I'm certainly not going to spend my precious 250ep just to test something that ought to have been tested already.

2. I don't know how talents interact with each other.

If two or more talents affect an ability, are the bonuses stacked additively or multiplicatively?

Impalement increases the damage of Impale by 50% Melee DPS. Bathe in Blood increases the damage of Impale by 30%. If I have points in both, does the 30% from Bathe in Blood affect the 50% Melee DPS from Impalement, or does the 30% just affect the base 80% Melee DPS from Impale?

Depending on the results, I might decide to spend my points elsewhere.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I know that test servers have been suggested before, and I still think it's a good idea. If that's not possible, then how about creating an in-game instance and call it The Respec Room or something?

Features of this Room:

You can freely add or take away attribute and talent points.
There are dummies with varying levels of armor for testing purposes. Dummies for attacking, dummies for healing.
Another area with Golems of 3 attack types. Base DPS of 1000, and your hp is restored after each hit.

Most importantly: when you leave the room, you are asked, "Would you like to keep the changes you have made and consume your Respec Cooldown?"

- No
- Yes (Respec Cooldown will be consumed and reset to 60 days)

--------------------------------------------------------------

If there was such a room, I definitely wouldn't mind helping HCS test the talents, and I'm sure there are many of us who would be willing to do it too :)

#914916 Advertise this game?

Posted by ernzor on 12 January 2015 - 21:24

would wait until 50 content and real end game stuff before doing big advertising, otherwise player retention would be low compared to if they had something (worthwhile) to do at end game.

#913579 Allowing res and running into battle?

Posted by kidref on 04 January 2015 - 23:32

What are the good point in the thing to res outside the dungeon and enter it in combat? It ruin the teamwork when someone starting to res a player and it res outside and take like 1min to get back in the combat.

#913581 Allowing res and running into battle?

Posted by XaXa on 04 January 2015 - 23:53

I think it's just a bug, because you can even leave some boss area. Not sure if you can pull the boss outside though.
If it's not a bug, please change it back. It seems silly being able to enter the dungeon while in combat.
