About Me
To the citizens of the United States of America
In light of your failure to financially manage yourselves and inability to effectively govern yourselves responsibly, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your independence, effective immediately.
Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will resume monarchical duties over all states, commonwealths and territories (with the exception of Texas which is beyond hope).
Your new Prime Minister, David William Donald Cameron will appoint a governor for the former United States of America without the need for future elections. Congress and the Senate will be disbanded. A questionnaire may be circulated sometime next year to determine if anyone even noticed.
To aid in the transition to a British Crown dependancy, the following rules are introduced with immediate effect.
1. You will learn that the suffix BURGH is pronounced "burra". You can spell Pittsburgh as Pittsberg from now on if you can't cope with simple pronunciation. Then look up aluminium and check the pronunciation - you will be amazed at just how wrong you've been pronouncing it.
2. The letter "U" will be reinstated in words such as "colour", "favour" and "neighbour". Likewise, you will learn how to spell doughnut without dropping half of the letters.
3. Generally, you will be expected to raise your vocabulary to acceptable levels (look up vocabulary). Using the same 27 words interspersed with filler noises such as "like" and "you know" is an unacceptable and inefficient form of communication.
4. There is no such thing as "US English". Microsoft will be contacted and the spell checker will be adjusted to take into account the reintroduced letter "U"
5. You will learn your reintroduced National Anthem "God Save The Queen" & July 4th will no longer be a public holiday.
6. You will learn to resolve personal issues without using guns, lawyers or therapists. The fact that you need so many lawyers and therapists shows that you're not ready to be independent. Guns should only be handled by adults and then used solely for hunting grouse. If you're not adult to sort things out without suing someone or speaking to a therapist then you're certainly not ready to handle a gun, let alone shoot grouse.
Therefore, you will be no longer be allowed to own or carry anything more dangerous than a vegetable peeler. A permit will be required should you wish to carry this in public.
All American cars are hereby banned. They are crap and this is for your own good. When we show you German cars, you will understand.
All intersections will be replaced with roundabouts and you will start to drive on the left with immediate effect. At the same time, you will go metric and without the benefit of conversion tables. Both roundabouts and metrication will allow you to understand the British sense of humour.
The former United States of America will adopt the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland prices on petrol (which you have, to date, been calling gasoline) of roughly $10 / gallon. Get used to it.
You will learn how to make real chips. Those things you call French Fries are not real chips and those things you insist on calling potato chips are correctly called crisps. Real chips are thick cut, fried in animal fat and dressed with malt vinegar.
Waiters and waitresses will be trained to be more aggressive and rude with customers.
The cold, tasteless stuff you insist on calling "beer" is not actually beer. Henceforth only proper "English Bitter" will be referred to as beer and European beers of known and accepted provenance will be referred to as lager. New Zealand and Australian beer is also acceptable. American "beers" will henceforth be known as "Near Frozen Gnats Urine"
Hollywood will be required to occasionally cast English actors as good guys. Hollywood will also be required to cast English actors to play English characters. Watching Andie MacDowell attempt English dialog in Four Weddings was bad, but Dick Van Dyke in "Mary Poppins" was akin to having ones ears removed with a cheese grater.
You will cease playing "American Football". There are only 2 kinds of proper football. One you call soccer and one you call rugby. Those of you who are brave enough will, in time, be allowed to play rugby (which has SOME similarities to American Football but does not involve stopping for a rest every 20 seconds or wearing full kevlar body armour like a bunch of nancies)
Further, you will stop playing baseball. It's not reasonable to host an event called "The World Series" for a game which is not played outside the USA. Since only 2.1% of you are aware there is a world beyond your borders, your error is understandable. You will all learn cricket in it's place.
You must tell us who killed JFK - it's been driving us nuts.
An Inland Revenue agent (i.e. tax collector) from Her Majesties Government will be with you shortly to ensure the acquisition of all monies due, backdated to 1776.
Daily Tea Time begins at 4 pm with proper cups, with saucers, with high qualities biscuits (no longer called cookies) and cakes plus strawberries (with cream) when in season.
Thank you for your co-operation.
God Save The Queen

I don't see that this offers anything to levellers. Indeed, by making more gold get transferred to the attacker, you make it more likely that people will get hit (with lower gold-in-hand needed for the attacker to think it worth their "risk"). So the net effect could so easily be as much XP loss and more gold loss from more hits.
I'd not thought of it that way, but yes, now you mention it, I agree with you.
Just wish the cows would outline their idea for the new PvP system so that ...
1. We can all stop speculating about what it may be
and
2. We can offer our feedback on it

Leave players who have worked VERY hard and exerted many resources to their craft alone to ply their trade any way they choose!
On the other hand, those that use unauthorzed scripts to compose pots 24/7 like they never sleep are what ruins the integrity of the game and I only wish HCS had the balls to terminate them permanently!
I've proven definite scripting to the cows on 1 occasion (AH) and almost definite scripting (Composing) to them on a separate occasion.
In both cases, the player is still active in the game.
Fix the scripting problem, SURE, I think everyone (bar the cheaters) are 100% behind that ....
Only real way to do it ? - ban ALL scripts - and then have more proactive (and effective) monitoring from the cows, rather than reactive ...

If i have to spend 7 days in a guild before i can make any composed potions for the guild obviously I am not going to be visiting any small guilds.
They dont have the membership numbers to make my visit viable.
I will stay home in the comfort of my home guild.
So then so many small guilds will have no access to high level composed potions until someone from their own guild becomes a high lvl composer, which most people cant do due to the cost and time involved.
To get to this lvl of composing so quickly at one point i was spending 2 million gold and using 3000 common fragments, that i farmed myself, PER DAY. Add to that the cost of buying buffs everyday to farm those fragments.
Then further add to that the necessity to buy fragments to make potions as I visit guilds.
I am not ahead and never will be, but by sharing my pots it is giving my composing level some value.
Your suggestion will only increase the strength of some guilds and keep the smaller guilds weaker.
It was YOUR choice to level so fast, knowing that the potions composed weren't allowed to be sold ...
ANY guild can have a composer - ANY guild can have a high level composer if they pull together.
All it takes is teamwork - 1 person to be the composer, some to farm the fragments, some to help fund the outlay and some to store created potions.
This is not about strengthening big guilds and weakening little guilds - other travelling salesmen come from small, low level guilds.
You yourself have said that, if you have to stay in a guild for a week before being able to sell your wares, then you won't be visiting any small ones as it won't be viable - out of your own mouth, you've said you're wanting to make plenty of credits / fsps (or am I misinterpreting your "viable" comment ?)

leefylee has a lvl 48 composer in their guild.
He has access to some of the best buffs available.
I am traveller and i can guarantee whatever i charge for my composed potions I will NEVER recover what it has cost me to get to this level of composing so quickly. So composing quickly and travelling IS NOT a money making venture !!
Why would u want to deny so many guilds from getting access to the best composed pots that are available to only a handful of guilds?
Firstly, Leefy isn't saying you can't travel around - just that, as with GvG or Titan Hunting, you have to have been in a particular guild for a week before you can carry out your activity ..
Secondly, composed potions were never intended to be sold - initially the idea was PURE personal use and then guild-tagged came into the mix.
Creative gaming allowed a loophole to found / exploited - I think that the 7 day timer before utilising it is a good compromise - or would you rather that guild-tagging was removed as an option when composing to stop sales completely ? ![]()

Spending extra stamina and effort with the hope of reaching Top 100 then failing in the end and not receiving any compensatory reward is a negative reinforcement. Hence you see a lot of people who opt to do only the minimum 5k kills even though they have more stam to spend. What we need is positive reinforcement - give these players incentive to spend more of their stamina on kills. Remove the Top 100 Epic Chest rewards and replace it with a fair tiered reward system based on the number of kills.
I've suggested similar in the past, but have been shot down (and, to an extant, I see why) by those with massive stam banks.
Their argument is "why should I be penalised for having upgraded my character?" - and they have a point.
I'd love to see a different reward structure, one that rewarded effort by all players, but not one that penalised players who've upgraded their character.
The problem there tho is HOW ?

I participated . . . so what?
I don't see anything wrong with lowering the kill count if it would help those that are discouraged to participate. Arguing and trolling us on the forums wont solve the issue, it will make it worse and will strengthen my resolve to have this fixed. With declining numbers of active players in the game it makes sense to drop the kill count to keep the ratio correct. This game is all based on numbers. You mess up the ratios then you screw up the fun and people get frustrated and do not want to participate. I don't see why you guys do not understand the concept. This is getting silly.
Lowering the required count will, I suspect, just result in those who do the massive hitting, doing less - and, I think, rightly so - why SHOULD they carry the can for everyone ?
This is a game-wide event - anyone and everyone can participate (as long as they can see the critters, of course) so the problem isn't the actual numbers required for the rewards, it's the amount of participation players put in. Some go all out on it (and I'm grateful for their efforts), some do all they can (and still fall short of the "bonus" rewards) and some do the absolute minimum.
The player mentality behind the events needs to change, not the actual numbers...
As others have said, there's a LOT of unused stamina up amongst the top players. I did quite a bit more than the minimum but, I admit, this time I was going more for the fragments than the actual reward so I could be (almost) accused of the antipathy myself ...

All this thread is against the behavior of some PvPers, AND THAT IS NOT THE SUBJECT!
Please, tell me why the Attack Level Range should not be extended, and stop simulating theorical situations, Player A, Player B, PvPers's behavior, Prestige Hits, delevel party, PvP Protection....all that have nothing to do with extending attack level range.
Actually, they have EVERYTHING to do with it ...
The wider the bracket, the more people become susceptible to all of the above ...

You guys are missing the point.....
Let me make it simple for you.... I hit Random Guy A on the find player list. He gear up and hits me back, gets his 10 prestige... done end of story, maybe I get a nice love note.... Random Guy B posts a bounty.... no problem, I either lose the XP lu said, or I get discovered by Random Smasher medal guy, and lose a level or 2.... no big deal, move on..... Random Guy c hits back AND posts...AND hires folks to take all 5 of my levels.... this is where things can sometimes escalate and get out of hand. I can A, do nothing, B bounty all his "friends" and have their levels gone, or C, pound him. I usually choose option A, but there have been circumstances where I have called upon friends to "bloody a nose" or two. I have never bountied a prestige hit, and I even got robbed by a guy recently. I spared him, because he had the temerity to do it in the first place, and I admire that.... That guy got a love note.
But, there's a difference here Penny - some PvP'rs behave with "restraint", others don't - and one cap doesn't fit all unfortunately.

Stage 8 of "A Growing Darkness" (Start Level 2403) has you killing 10 x Zekmoor Ice Witches and, when completed, you get "Bottles of Sacred Grove Water" as the stage "reward"
But, the witches also drop this item ? - not sure if that's a glitch or meant to be ??

#919715 Revenge Attack Option For Returned Attacks
Posted by Pardoux
on 15 February 2015 - 20:56
I love this idea - and it will ENCOURAGE not DISCOURAGE PvP.
Person A pvp's me .... under this proposed idea, I get the option of ..
1. Bountying Person A - which, a lot of the time, is akin to adding insult to injury. I lose gold in a hit and then have to pay more to have the person punished (often via a very soft clear)
2. Having a free, non-bountyable return hit. Not only does this give me more "satisfaction" in meting out some sort of "punishment", but it costs me nothing.
Obviously, taking option 2 removes my ability to bounty Person A for his hit - and prevents Person A bountying me in return ...
Love it ..

Funny how this thread has devolved SO far from the title of the thread, where players were asked to list
WHAT DON'T YOU LIKE ABOUT PVP
Players are listing what they don't like, and the pvp'rs are hijacking the thread saying "man up", "defend yourself" yada yada yada - but are the players here saying why they don't like pvp hijacking the
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT PVP
thread ? NO
How about those that LIKE pvp list their reasons in the correct thread, and leave those with negative feelings about it to list them here without interference ?

I should have guessed this would turn into the debate that
PvP is Evil vs PvP is God *sigh*
I thought the thread was "WHAT DON'T YOU LIKE ABOUT PVP?" - surely those that love it can make their "I love it" comments in the "WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT PVP?" thread and leave the comments in here about the reasons why players don't like it ?
That way, if it ever happens, the cows can see concise reasons why players DO like it in the DO like thread and concise reasons why players DON'T like it in the DON'T like thread...

1. Folk slapping you on a prestige hit and then getting abusive / crying when you bounty them
2. PvP'rs that just attack those that are not of a like mind - pvp should be player vs player, both of which WANT to participate.
3. PvP's that hit folk with no gold on hand (or next to none) when there has been no provocation issued (and yes, despite protestations, it DOES happen) - i.e. targetted player has minimised the risks, but to no avail.
4. PvP's that hit someone and then when that person has the audacity to return a hit, calls a bounty and delevelling party.
If PvP is going to thrive again in the game then something needs to be done to stop so many players being p***ed off by it ..
