#874694 chat mods

Posted by reinedor on 22 June 2014 - 01:02

I agree that world chat has become more of a problem recently....

Sure, I ignore it. I switch over to general or group chat, or spam wc with whispers. But that's not really a solution either and it actively hurts the community. Since I never look at wc anymore, I miss people requesting help with dungeons, quest items, and questions about the game.

And the awfulness of world chat doesn't affect just new players. Many end gamers have said they stay for the community. World chat is one of the most apparent representations of said community. I've had friends tell me they want to quit or are quitting specifically because they're disheartened by what they see in wc these days.

So +1 to taking steps to address the problem.

#853505 World Chat player Mods

Posted by ernzor on 06 March 2014 - 05:11

You guys have player mods in world chat for fallensword.

Personally I think it is needed here for times when filters cannot pick up on things or when certain topics get out of hand.

These mods should only have power to give people a timeout and to remove messages. No bans or anything like that.

Mods should NOT have a special color in chat cause then if they were to buy/sell things they would stand out and it would give them an advantage.

They could (?) have the ability to post warnings to world chat (via a command to make it different to non mod message) to stop people abusing the filter or to get onto a different topic and this would show up in different color to stand out.

And of course, their actions would have to be monitored to prevent abuse (picking on certain people, etc).

#871888 WB Suggestions

Posted by Alteration on 05 June 2014 - 17:55

People can argue...well make it a 10 cap boss...Yeah sure but then it isn't exactly a "world" boss it is then just a raid boss with less beneficial rewards. So I vote to make them a actual world boss that any and all lvls can partake in for possible rewards and bump their life up a lot more and also put more fun mechanics into it so it keeps everyone on their toes. I know its a lot to ask for especially with the current plan of releases coming up. But WB's and such are also a nice feature for big MMO's. Make the rewards based off lvls of all participants. so lvl 45 wins 45+ stuff or 30 wins 30+ etc.

Agreed.  I was thinking, "if it was a 10 man boss, then it's not a world boss is it" since i heard of the suggestion to lower the number of people who can do it.  And if it was lowered to a 10 man group, and the difficulty increased, I'm afraid it will only be run by the "elite of elites" instead of being a nice fight that is available for all.  But before all this, please fix the lag and the no returning after a d/c even if you stayed majority of the fight.

I don't know if it would be possible, but maybe make it that the boss attacks you with a little bomb if you are just standing there because you went afk or decided to lay down and sleep.

Again, please fix the lag and d/c issues before doing anything :/

And the rewards could use some work, 10 glims and unusable gear for a 40 man group, it's obvious why people don't want to do for more than just the weekly rewards, especially when things could go horribly wrong and you could die multiple times in 1 fight, lag like all hell, or randomly disconnect and miss everything.  Put in a world boss equipment set that is comparable, but different in offered stats than RG/BT set.  Make this automatically appear in inventory 10% of the time.  Of course what you get is random and bound, but be based on the majority of your talent points so you actually get what you could use.  If you're a hybrid 27 templar/14 mage (just for example), you will have 2/3 chance of getting a random templar gear and 1/3 chance of getting a random mage gear; 10% of the time.  WB exclusive vanities like dragonheads from shade, or a defiler pet from defiler.  Of course, make this super rare.  Maybe 1 drop per 50 kills for a lucky person.  Or make it an achievement reward to show that you're a pro-WB hunter.

#868749 Loyalty Points

Posted by Mongo on 15 May 2014 - 14:29

Good idea, would maybe tie in with my suggestion for loyalty points per month for supporters! sorry for hijacking thread.  :P

#868744 Loyalty Points

Posted by RISDMAC on 15 May 2014 - 14:10

All of the crafting/gathering potions from the shop available in the loyalty section (with +25% boost rather than +50%) would be a nice place to start.

As Chelsea said, I think a loyalty pet would be nice (not invisible please!).

Some loyalty emotes (new dance, new party item) would also be a plus.

Lets get the suggestions flowing people! :D

For me Chelsea makes a fine point it is in the games interest and its a nice gesture by people who have the means. Nice to see selfless posts very commendable and is very actionable and useful for generating much needed game revenue.

The kitten might be cute but its going for the eyes don't let it fool you :D
