#920943 What DON'T you like about PvP?

What reality am I in? One where I'm not ignorant or oblivious to how players use PvP in this game.. I was in the warrior kings throughout the whole summer. I know about terrorizing players through PvP. To ignore what I witnessed and was apart of, would to be living outside reality..
#920586 Gargantuan Mosquitos IV (Global)

The Gargantuan Mosquito were once normal little irritants. How ever this has been a long, hot, damp summer and the humid temperatures have seen the Mosquito population explode. As if this were not bad enough, Mages across the Realms have reported rogue magic concentrations that have allowed the Mosquitos to grow to monstrous size.
Now these beasts are buzzing around and draining people and livestock of their blood. Any unlucky survivors find themselves struck with a magical fever which spreads to other living beings, weakening them, making them easy prey!
The Warriors of the Realms must gather together to rid the Communities of these horrifying vermin!
Gargantuan Mosquito (Level 25)

The latest Global Event in Fallen Sword is now underway! In the Event, the Community must work together to destroy the Gargantuan Mosquito plaguing the realms.
Each player must earn a personal target for increasingly powerful chests (mouse over the event info on the World page for more details) while also helping the Community to attain the best total kills possible, unlocking the rewards for all.
The Event shall be live until 15:00 GMT (Server Time) on the 24th of February.
For each tier that the community completes the reward will be as follows:
Bronze: 1 x Jigsaw Box
Silver: 1 x Rusted Iron Box
Gold: 1 x Decorated Lock Box
Crystal: 2 x Crystalline Box
Ruby: 3 x Cut Ruby Box
If you qualified, the reward(s) will be delivered to your mailbox shortly after the event ends. Note that you get the reward for the tier that you have qualified for, for example if the community unlocks Gold, but you qualify for Silver, you will receive 1 x Rusted Iron Box. You don't receive the rewards from lower tiers, only the tier you have qualified for.
If at the end of the event, you are placed within the top 100 contributors, you will receive 2 x Cut Ruby Box in addition to any reward you are qualified for.
Additionally, under 'Preferences' on the 'Interface' tab, you will see a new option that allows you to switch off notifications for automatically opening Frag Stashes.
Finally, the Mosquitoes themselves now drop Mozzie Stashes. These drop between 1 to 5 Common Frags and between 0 to 1 Rare Frags.
Good luck everyone!

Because I voted, a vote without an accompanied post just gives credence to the notion that people have blindly voted, or voted without reason.
I have reasons, I just know that people will try to dismiss, discredit or call to question anything I write that is even remotely negative with regards to pvp.
There is no such thing as a pvp debate that isn't pointless. Over the years I have participated in countless versions of the same few debates that get brought up with a dishearteningly high frequency. They always without exception devolve into childish bickering and flame baiting.
(If HCS is actually serious about making changes to pvp they need to organise an official thread, one that someone from HCS is going to actively participate in.
It need to be LOCKED whenever HCS aren't around, with activity times for the thread posted clearly on the FS homepage.
Decisions made within the thread need to be made by HCS and HCS alone after listening to 'opinions' from a wide range of players not just the regular forum dwellers.
Without this happening nothing positive will ever come from a 'pvp thread' in these forums.)

Voted no, Although I don't really see any point in giving a supporting reason.
If I don't say, "pvp rules, I love pvp because it is awesome." then someone will simply attempt to batter down my post with endless amounts of garbage and half-truths, I really don't have the time or inclination to get into another pointless pvp debate.

Isn't that what I said? I said both sides had issues. He disagreed. Funny you think my comment was worse then his. Plus I added a cute smiley face. Thanks for calling me out and not others.Sadly, I expect to see better from you then this. We don't tend to see eye to eye on issues, but you're one that I can usually debate with without the silly nonsense some stoop too. Guess that's what I get for thinking, huh? You know that isn't what he was saying. Everyone agrees PvP needs some work to be done. This is a suggestion of ONE way to help.
The range is the least of the problems and to increase it without addressing anything else seems counterproductive. Do you agree the pvp system needs some work?

i didn't demand anything or give out orders.. i just asked nicely..
thanks for for continuing ruining my spirits with this game like many others have.. i've been mocked, insulted, and attacked via personal messages from just posting a couple PvP threads.. i've tried to remain calm and determined to continue a discussion i think could benefit the thought process of the cows when they decided to change PvP for the better.. tis why i made a thread of what DO or Don't you like about pvp....
a lot of players have come in here to just smash down players' opinions on PvP instead of displaying their own on the subject and moving on.. the way some players talk to others can be so disheartening to read...
i hope those who have come in here and have stated their opinion and have stayed out of the mud slinging come back to other discussions and aren't put off from the forum due to toxic individuals.. i thank you for your time for stating your opinion and taking the high road
That kinda says it all, utter disgrace. (Polite version for the sake of the kids).
Cheers.

#919715 Revenge Attack Option For Returned Attacks
Posted by Pardoux
on 15 February 2015 - 20:56
I love this idea - and it will ENCOURAGE not DISCOURAGE PvP.
Person A pvp's me .... under this proposed idea, I get the option of ..
1. Bountying Person A - which, a lot of the time, is akin to adding insult to injury. I lose gold in a hit and then have to pay more to have the person punished (often via a very soft clear)
2. Having a free, non-bountyable return hit. Not only does this give me more "satisfaction" in meting out some sort of "punishment", but it costs me nothing.
Obviously, taking option 2 removes my ability to bounty Person A for his hit - and prevents Person A bountying me in return ...
Love it ..

True. But why wait? Instant support. Not necessarily.
I'm not in a "PvP Focused Guild" and there are plenty of my friends who still "have my back". Having people who would fight for you doesn't mean that you're in their guild, it means that at some point or another you gained their respect and support and that carries over time.

Here are a few tips for anyone else that would like to try their hand at pvp. For most these are common sense but there are always some that don't get it so here goes. Always be respectful in your communications, just as you (hopefully) would communicate with people in real life. Nothing gets people crossways faster than trash talk. You wouldn't say those things to people you meet in real life, don't say them here. Ask questions. Pvp'ers are a friendly bunch and enjoy helping others learn about that aspect of the game. Clear people on the bounty board. Occasionally some jerk will counter bounty you for a 10 stam clear but you'll quickly learn who they are and clear them with 100's the next time. Most people really do appreciate an honest 10 stam clear so just jump in there and do it. Want to try your hand at "safe" pvp first? Participate in gvg's where you will learn about gear and buffs. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the experience.
I would add - join a pvp guild... they got your back...
