Funny how this thread has devolved SO far from the title of the thread, where players were asked to list

 

 

WHAT DON'T YOU LIKE ABOUT PVP

 

Players are listing what they don't like, and the pvp'rs are hijacking the thread saying "man up", "defend yourself" yada yada yada - but are the players here saying why they don't like pvp hijacking the

 

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT PVP

 

thread ? NO

 

How about those that LIKE pvp list their reasons in the correct thread, and leave those with negative feelings about it to list them here without interference ?

they aren't untouchable.. you just shouldn't touch them if you don't want to be touched by multiple players...

 

the resources and dedication needed to stand up to some of the top PvP guilds is usually out of range from enjoying the game and just the outcome from it.. what does one or others benefit from going to war with a guild... with how little PvP is used nowadays, any PvPer is hungry for action.. but why not.. its dry out there..

 

Anyways. As long as there are bands of PvP players who "have eachother's back", I don't think PvP can thrive.

 

PvP would thrive if non PvPers became PvPers to have the non PvPers' back.. just depends on how big of an alliance that group could get... and how long they are willing to go with whatever it takes..

Excuse me. Why would you call me a bully then? What have I done to you? What actions are you referring to?

 

So far you are the epitome to whom I refer!

Bully: uses superior strength or influence to intimidate someone, typically to force them to do what one wants. 

 

I doubt I need go into the various forms. Just because something is legal within the confines of the game doesn't change the fact of it being bullying. As I said your actions speak for themselves.  Claiming innocence or ignorance still doesn't change the nature of actions performed in said manner.  

 

What have you done to me? 

Nothing. I also have no grudges against you, anyone in your guild, or anyone in the game. I'm just tired of players claiming innocence when their actions clearly say otherwise.(this goes for both sides)

 

As for being the epitome of whom you refer. 

Not once have I tried to intimidate anyone through threats, trash talk, or name calling. Nor do I have some inferiority complex and feel empowered by trash talking. So how this fits I don't know. But hey, if that's how you feel so be it. 

 

Edit: as per others wishes I will stick to the topic at hand.

Maybe because, as per the title of the thread, there are a lot of things about PvP that they don't like in its current inception ?

How game mechanics allow for disproportionate action to be taken. Remove this, then you remove so called bullying. How to to do it fairly/correctly, now that's another question.

No XP loss..

 

Can only do 10 or 100 stamina attacks.. using 100 stamina increases the damage dealt (gear durability damage) and teh reward received (gold and PvP prestige) but puts you at risk of being placed on the bounty board... 10 stamina attacks can't be placed on the bounty board..

 

PvP Prestige is earned with EVERY win on a player who has been active in the past 24 hours.. it is also updated to allow a certain amount of prestige to be used with each activation (not a spend all to use any, deal).. introduction of other benefits from PvP Prestige that involve all other aspects of the game would encourage PvP more..

 

PvP ladder has new potions introduced to eat away at neglected token accumulation.. plus new crystalline gear added with old gear upgraded (new enhancements/stats/w/e)

 

Bounty Hunters can no longer be counter bountied unless they use 100 stamina on any of their attacks during the bounty..

 

Bounty Hunter pot is introduced to randomly reward a recent bounty hunter for their efforts.. reward can be gold or potions or anything that sparkles..

Some people use it after hunting globals with one or two items to reduce the repair cost substantially and/or utilize a minimalist strategy with Reckoning by taking UB off.

I agree with Johnagod.     It is supply and demand.  To much supply and less demand from less players means prices are low.  Trying to fix the game with changes that affect the few players we have will shorten the life of the game. There are some countries that play that can not sustain the points needed to keep upgrading gear. Thus the Guild tagging was great. Less gear needed for guild members.  If you want to fix the game then help find ways to bring more player base to the game. then prices will go back up.  

 

I think there needs to be a level cap established.  I would rather have maybe the ability to upgrade my gear or set of gear versus continuing to level my character.  This will establish less turn over in gear, but stronger gear items or gear sets.  

 

Maybe once you earn enough experience you can upgrade an item of gear you own. Or you can increase one skill, thus the skill can be stronger, not the over all level of the character. This would create random differences in players and make it more interesting as so many options to improve skills or gear. Thus might help bring back dead sets that have been made obsolete by new sets.

 

Could ramble on all night on neat things to help the game, but the true question is "Do they really want the Game to  Live on???"  or are we all a dying breed of hard core players trying to squeeze a little more life out of our game?

I can see why words like 'punish' or 'injure' can sound evil-ish to people. But it should be remembered that PvP is all about 'hitting' other players. The vocabulary is going to go along the lines of violence.

Yes there are certain people or guilds who respond well enough that hitting them guarantees a loss of 5 levels. That's why I say people need to use common sense. They aren't untouchable. There are just consequences for hitting them. Thats part of the risk of PvP.

As far as promoting PvP, people need to understand that PvP is not always pretty. Its always fun when you're the one hitting. But PvP players need to understand there is the other end of it where getting stomped sucks. Some people can stomach it, some can't. So newer PvP players need to see the full reality of every angle of it to make sure they can take it. Babying them just results in anger and confusion when it doesn't go their way.

Words indeed... Job well done... We are practically to the point where only the sheep and gangs are left. 2 less PVP'rs and it's their problem.

 

Help me with my list so the new PVP players are fully aware of all the angles and reality. Some say it's active and alive, others say it's dead. I just don't see it succeeding in it's current form as you disillusion folks who do want to play that aspect in an honorable fashion. I intend to play that aspect at EOC when levels don't matter anymore and I get to annoy other players whilst they help me delevel :)

No, ALL scripts are banned except for the Helper. I don't know what this "approved" private script nonsense you're talking about is, but it is just that. Nonsense.

The ONLY script allowed in Sword is the FSHelper.

Now. This is a feedback thread for the Helper. No more derailing it with "Ban the Helper" posts.

I think they may be referring to that BRIEF moment when HCS was originally banning scripts and said FSH and any approved scripts would be allowed.  Soon there after, it was determined that FSH was to be the ONLY approved script and it has been this way for quite a while now.

 

That said, I look forward to the day when FSH is no longer needed.  However, until that day arives, I am thankful it is around and agree there is no proint in arguing wheter is should be allowed. Such decisions are for the sole disgresion of HCS.

 

Keep up the great work HCS and FSH teams :)

HCS should hire PointyHair and yuuzham to work inside HCS, making changes on the core game, not on the scripts.

I appreciate the work on FSH, but the game shouldn't not even need it.

the Canvas for the map needs to be upgraded.. there have been a lot of advances since this code technology was used for the new map.. that might help with the stuttering steps a bit.. maybe the whole map moving aspect of walking uses up a lot of resources.. a stationary map might help the majority of players on less powerful machines like tablets and other mobile devices

 

wonder what type of map system they are going to use for the new app.. how simple will it be and how different will it make teh experience of Fallen Sword..

 

as for the lag overall.. keep pushing for a change.. a upgrade.. a proper service..
