The onus of proof is on the player to prove that an account is a duplicate which, I think, is ridiculous. Unless a multi is a complete numpty, he's not going to come out and admit it.

 

Malicious reports are penalised - and I think a lot of folk are wary about that.

 

Do I think there are more than a few multies in the game, course I do, but unless I'm 101% sure of the fact, I'm gonna err on the side of safety. Protecting MY account is more important to me that possibly jeopardising a multi account.

 

I think it should be simple to detect - just run an analysis of the IP address players are logging in from. If there are multiple users sharing an IP then that is cause for SUSPICION (could be a work IP address or a library or something) - but then they could insist that the player(s) provide proof of id to continue playing. For me, game integrity is EVERYTHING - and, unfortunately, I feel that is slipping ... :(

 

(yes, there are ways to mask an IP but that's another story ... )

The most surprising aspect of this thread is that only now is it  becoming, "a wee bit uncomfortable to play."

 

This has been allowed to go on since the game started.

 

And now watch this thread get swept under the rug by probably being deleted. It's not good for business and an embarrassment to acknowledge that cheating is going on.

I would love to see some small tweaks(updates) to how Prestige works:

 

1) I would like to be able to break it down into segments. The current all or none is terrible. I earned it. Just because I don't have a 100,000+ stam bank to burn 6 hrs worth of prestige doesn't mean I should be penalized.

 

1.5) And let's increase the % increase to 15-20%, all at the user's discretion like Nightmare Visage and Barricade. This will only entice more to PvP.

 

2) I want to trade it like any buff. Again, I earned it. Why can't I disperse it to whomever I want?

 

3) The 3 day cool down should be omitted from the ladder. Every hit should gain 10 Prestige on the Ladder only. This would spice up the Ladder in one easy tweak!

One last thing, why does this road map seem like we're taking a horse and wagon, and we're missing a wheel? I see so little done so seldom it'll take 10 years to finish just what is listed on the current road map. What's taking so long? Has this game been shelved finally for Hoof's time? What's up?

I don't know if this has been suggested yet, but my initial thought when seeing the guild chat made me desire the ability to pop out the chat into its own window with nothing but the chat there (Sort of like Twitch's chat).

 

The way it's set up, you need to have it in a separate tab/window already anyway to keep your attention constantly on the chat while doing your everyday Fallen Sword activities. Being able to pop out the global chat would also be something I would use personally and I think it would result in more people wanting to use these new chat services.

 

Any opinions on my own? =)

Love that little feature! Please DON'T do away with the original guild chat as it has the lovely Mass Message feature that we use in-house. :)

 

Yeah I think both options are useful - don't see any harm in having both tbh :)

 

Also the new 'Guild Chat' option under the map might help encourage new players to find a guild as if they're not in a guild when they click it, it suggests they take a look at the 'Join Guild' page :D

edit - this player ended up quitting their guild and created a solo guild because of the farming, but then ended up going inactive

 

and remember, every person brave enough to post in forum (new players especially) represents a number of others too shy to post

I would prefer to see dynamic Guild Alliances and that's coming from a guild that has never had established allies, but a method by which you keep your "homes", yet you have a joint chat.  There could be limits placed on the # of guilds that can be in an alliance and certain other aspects such as varying size or ranks, thus the top 3 guilds couldn't be their own alliance, but guilds would have to be separated by x # of levels.  The Guild Level and PvP level rankings would both be good to consider in this, so a system that encourages diversity not monopoly.  Would potentially breathe new life into all the allied guilds, more teaching and collaboration possible as well as more chat (hopefully), yet retention of each history, gear and internal guild permissions and policies.

A guild merger would be good. I think it would breathe life into small guilds, particularly where a few active members still feel a sense of kinship/responsibility to those who used to be active and still occassionally look in, but are themselves too few in number to attract new members.

 

Even more than guild mergers, though, I'd also like to see a "guild visitor" status introduced as a way of increasing inter-guild interaction. Primarily, guild visitors would have access to the guild chatroom (without having to forsake their own). This would make it easier to build new friendships, and also give a chance to see how other guilds work (all while still retaining full interaction with one's existing-guild members). One could extend visitor status to allow other things, like access to guild equipment (*not* benefit from structures), but I see them as non-essential frills that *might* pretty-up the main idea.

 

Guild visitor status might also be an essential first stage for mergers, as access to guild chat would be a good way to see if two guilds really are compatible before you actually run the experiment.

Personally, I find it amusing that folk want to keep historical top "xxx" lists ...

 

Imagine the following scenario ..

 

New player creates account. Finds his way around for a few days. Spots the "top xyz" lists and checks them out... All of them are full of inactive players. Now, what does that say to him about the game ? - that all the best players (according to the historical listings) have left the game for some reason. So, he thinks, why should I bother sticking around - there's obviously some reason all these players have quit ...

 

Now, dynamic "top xyz" listings would have the opposite effect .. Not only would they show that all players on said listings are still active and involved in the game (and thus it's still alive and kicking), but that the listings are more spread out, level wise - for instance ...

"Top Kill Streak"  :-  4 of the top 10 are inactive ..

"Top 250 Bounty Hunters" :- 2 of the top 10, inactive with a 3rd almost (currently) inactive

 

"PvP Smasher" :- 2 outta the top 10, inactive

"Top 250 Richest Players" :- 2 outta the top 10, inactive

 

"PvP Arena Champions" :- 5 outta the top 10, inactive - including the top 3 !

 

Top rated listings need to be a "CURRENT" representation of the game, not a "HISTORICAL" one - keep a historical one as well, by all means, but have the current one be the default view.
