#867831 need some help here :p

Posted by rowbeth on 10 May 2014 - 08:30

so i wonder as a level 950 with adept learner 863, stalker 230, librarian kicks in with doubler 1725 and i kill a carver

how much exp would i get?

I reckon 11,400,000. You didn't mention sacrifice so I've assumed 400 + distil. That is also for a 1-hit kill, so doesn't account for AS if you don't 1-hit.

*BUT* when I was doing these calculations on a regular basis I found I kept overestimating the amount of Xp I should get. I got partway through an RJEM-like analysis and decided the effects of elite hunter, stalker, lib (doubling frequency), overkill and arterial strike were all working according to the skill descriptions (and forum, in the case of elite hunter). That left me wondering whether AL underperformed with respect to the description - or whether it doesn't stack with some of the other bonuses; but I never got around to doing the trial hunts with different buff combinations and recording the Xp/kills to test this.

Anyway, if you have lib 500+distil, that becomes an average of 8,400,000 per kill, and so you'd need about 65 kills to get from 950 to 970

Hunting an SE to gain 20 levels does sound painfully slow, though.

#866667 Players join a guild and join an Active Conflict!

Posted by MiniManiac on 03 May 2014 - 01:39

Let's Enable the game rather than keep Disabling it.. Half of the new threads I look at seem to have people wanting to limit the game in some way. Because honestly in my opinion I believe it should be left open, it can be looked at in two different ways, I'm not in a top guild, but I do like to think like i am.. I believe we should be able to keep it open in the case, say you are in a top guild and someone has GvG rights, something that most can earn or even get by default and that person initiates a bunch of GvGs that are only hittable by himself a few others but no where near enough to finish hits, the other guilds hit back you lose rating the player leaves the guild. Now I know this is extreme, but you dont even have to be a top guild to have this happen to you.. Another potential where being a member of a top guild brain farts and misjudges hitting range and comes up short on hitting on a GvG, should they really have to just eat instead of ask a friend or even hire someone to help them out.. GvG has been constantly been crippled more and more over time, I really don't think we should keep coming up with ways to cripple it further and come up with ways to open it up and enable more.. Make it fun again.. Seriously, it is a resource drain now more than ever, for less and less payout, no cool RP reward adds, no RP guild bulit/locked sets, no RP cost GvG buffpacks or pots, only more rules to disable it, a BIG NO in my opinion..

#810212 Big Problem With Relics ??

Posted by sweetlou on 05 September 2013 - 23:13

Don't even risk it,say NOTHING. I'm so tired of being micro-managed to protect an overly sensitive player about what I can or can't say in a PM. I will defend any relic our guild is protecting through PvP. Nobody has said I can't PvP. I am not threatening anyone. I am reacting to harassment of our guild just like I know I can lose 5 levels from any attack. I will be accountable and responsible for my actions. Just because some players CHOOSE not to accept PvP is part of the game, it shouldn't cause me to have to play differently. Maybe the perpetrators should take less defended relics. In fact I believe if you have opted out of PvP you should be prevented from taking relics. Go play in a shell!!!

WOOT, WOOT, WOOT!!!   we're about to hit 1,000,000,000,000 1 trillion xp!

drum roll please!...............and...............

OH CRAP - contributed xp rolled over to zero like an odometer   :(

ffs2_zps65eccb46.jpg

bumping for relevance - i'm wondering if the game is coded for 1 trillion guild xp

in another game i play, it would stick at 999,999,999,999 - with individuals still gaining personal xp

and in a different game, it would roll over to zero...which would be hilarious

#846222 RIP - FSH

Posted by Belaric on 04 February 2014 - 16:18

the buying buffs feature of it is broken and I mourn that, as when you're buying a bunch it just was so nice to click on them all and nice for the buffer too.

That's probably the thing I miss the most

That no longer works? Oh well, I can rearrange my bio now. Time for stories!

The thing that when it breaks will seriously distress me is the Guild Inventory tab - as being able to open the guild gear list and sort it by level is so much better than looking at Guild report and seeing who has what where. That really should be a core game feature. Unless something like it exists already and I have simply not noticed due to my reliance on the FSH feature...

#866076 Players join a guild and join an Active Conflict!

Posted by ThumperFi on 30 April 2014 - 13:11

Perhaps you are missing some information here.

A guild cannot initiate a conflict of 100 attacks without 4 (active) players, so you might have logged in and saw only 3 players, but its possible that someone left the guild and came back.

Anyway, I know that was not the point of this topic.. The Point is, you want to ban players from playing the game with your logic.

You want to stop a player who joins a guild from participating in a guild conflict. I believe this game has too many restrictions, that it has given players the impression they are not allowed to play the game without waiting XX:XX amount of time or whatever, which kills the player base interest.

NOBODY likes the 7 day cool down on titans, why would you like there to be a 7 day or whatever cool down on players joining guilds to join active conflicts? Man up, put your big boy pants on, defend 100 attacks, and win, lose or draw....period..

If you want to play this game alone in the coming months, keep adding restrictions and watch the game die.. That is my thoughts.

#865648 Global Chat - Knowledge, suggest improvements and ask questions.

Posted by BigGrim on 28 April 2014 - 09:09

The Moderators do a great job of things. They have to deal with players who think they can ignore the rules and ignore warnings who then complain when muted.

There are rules. Follow them and you won't have any problems. It really is as simple as that.

Voting for Mods will not happen. As pointed out, that simply results in a popularity contest. It's of no use to us.

Asking to publicly vent about your muting will not happen either. 1. It is against the rules. 2. Contact Support.

Any further posting bashing the Mods or rehashing these ideas will be deleted.

Global Chat has degenerated into what I feared it would ...

1. Idiots try to take it over

2. Mods aren't covering the chat 24/7

3. Some mods show, shall we say, preferential treatment to certain players.

I don't use the chat - I look in on it now and then - and this is WHY i don't - it's disorganised chaos, unfortunately ...

It would be good if the cows were to look at the whole process and perhaps refine it / adjust it a bit..

#865569 Idea For Guilds

Sounds like a good way to get more players to leave the guild.  I don't see this as useful or ever being implemented.

#865349 Ideas to motivate players to be online

Posted by kalish on 26 April 2014 - 14:42

I think a suggestion was made a while back about giving increasing numbers of loyalty tokens per day depending on how many consecutive days you had logged on. That could get out of hand though.

Edit: one idea to increase activity without promoting the use of multis might be a small global event every week. Something that doesn't require much stam or time and has a small reward.

#865268 Global Chat - Knowledge, suggest improvements and ask questions.

It's my opinion that the Moderators should be evaluated by the community periodically on these points:

1) Are they involved with World Chat in a manner that makes it a welcoming, positive and helpful environment?  *

2) Do you feel they try to apply the rules fairly, without prejudice, but also with patience? **

3) Are problems dealt with in a way that is respectful?

- -

*  I truly think that is the biggest service they can provide the game.  We also have a lot of mods that do not participate anymore in Global Chat, or rarely.

** I say patience, as seeing newbs slammed verbally by the mods in World Chat and banned for asking for buffs - which I've seen - is just appalling.  Newer players need to be taught gently and if there is a pattern of problems - fine, then deal with it, but deal with it in a manner that is respectful of the individual and use private messaging more than public humiliation.

I've never been chastised by a Mod, nor have I given them much opportunity as I only rarely look in there, and even more rarely comment.  Part of my lack of involvement is because when I do I have the unfortunate bad luck to look in there I seem to always do it when a Mod seems to be having a bad day and sharing their bad mood.    Is this true of all the Mod's?  Certainly not!  Is it true of all Mod's all the time, no.  A generally consistency of mood and application of the rules would be a positive, however, but even more so a light and chattiness would brighten things.

I'm not saying this because I want to be a Mod, while I can be extremely fair, I'm not good at banter.  I do think Mod's should be individuals consistently accepted as leaders within the game.  Interestingly the Mod's are not all leaders as designated by their peers, thus I do think more Guild Founders and Leaders would be beneficial.

Hmmmm - IDEA:

Keeping up with Global Chat is a burden.  Why not have all GF's and 2-3 people they nominate into a pool of potential Mod's.  Allow those individuals to bow out - if they don't want to do it.  Also provide a private vote (no results posted) where we the community can vote for or against the people on that list and in conjunction with that have all of the potentials complete a survey program (there are many free ones) answer how they would handle certain scenarios.  By this approach the nominees don't know if the vote or their answers were the problem. Have those that pass everything tossed into a rotation of Moderating Global Chat and if the timing is bad for them, they can opt out and drop to the bottom of the rotation list.  Perhaps beforehand HCS can determine the total # of Mod's they want in the rotation, and they could even decide to keep the current Mod's.

By the way, I say GF's because they are already deemed leaders by their peers, and then they know their membership and who contributes the most positively and wisely to their guild chats.  People who are used to teaching and building positive relationships are what will serve us all well.

If it was rotated the newer Mod's would have (theoretically) more energy for Global Chat, thus the game is infused with new energy.

Forgive my ramblings -- just opinions and ideas -- Kath
