So much for theory that 17.5 million kills is an unrealistic or unachievable goal for a global event.  Funny how the cries change from "too hard, make it easier" to "so easy let's get more" depending on the particular event.  This a great reward so participation is through the roof.  Thanks cows.

I kind of like it as it is.

Changing it would remove the desire to fight to stay on the top 100.

#929151 GLOBAL EVENT REWARD

Securing a spot in the top 100 takes some costs and there is always the chance if they don't stay in. The people that put in those high level scores know those costs.

Besides, getting 100,000 kills in this global is just getting 20,000 kills in a regular global if you are just killing the shadow bunnies. If the trend of top 100 qualifying kills stays its course of getting 20,000 kills as a minimum (Looking at past globals where each kill counted as 1 kill), then the lowest score for this global will be 100,000 kills. So, really you are just asking for 3 or 4 bonus chests for just doing your own thing of qualifying in the top 100.

You should be fine with the 2 bonus chests.

Not sure it works with Global Events but I could maybe see combining Epics with other items. Possibly the stuff from LE's or the Arena. With a low invention chance for sure.

better not stuff from arena or ladder, put them from LE drops because everyone can easy get those LE drops :)

I've been getting messages from players in-game and in Support saying that they are finally Titan Hunting again. I'm seeing a lot of Guilds I've never seen Titan Hunting SECURING their own win! It sounds like the TDoubler is doing it's job.

Grim, can you please clear this point? It'll be hard for low level members to hold the basket for 1 year until the next springtime event.

We'll do the same as we have for the Halloween event. Once you're done with the event, you can chuck em if you wish. A shop will be added to a locked realm for you guys to buyu again.

I actually REALLY like that idea. Maybe get an Easter Bunny who is worth more but much less spawn. Like the Slender Fellow at Halloween?

Any thoughts on having an option to make the map stationary at its furtherest view so the only thing that moves is the character?

Maybe trimming down on the borders outside the walls.. That's a lot of extra tiles in no mans land..

Also an option to turn off gif tiles would be great.. Its quite brutal hunting the kraken or dealing with all those movements outside the walls when the space outside is so big too.. Tis excessive

I'm glad the map is going to get some reworking :-) the new app has had me wondering about it

Oh good god yes!!

The ability to turn off the blinking, swirling and flashing etc would be beyond all known measurements of awesome.

#924366 Current state of the game

I would not be surprised if some of the 'new' servers of the past were actually cheaper servers or service providers that the HCS bean counters thought would be just fine.

It is all about the cash after all.

I, like many others here have spend huge amounts of time, and in the past, not inconsiderable amounts of money on this game. I'll admit to regretting the amount I spent. Like others, after a time I simply made the decision not to spend any more money here as it did not feel worth it. This was my first internet game also, and I have tried others and been unenthused. It is/was a good product.

But I agree it has been neglected, or at least feels neglected.

Maybe the mobile interface will save it, as I hoped, but as has been pointed out - there is no point getting mobile customers to log into a game that is dysfunctional. They will just walk away again. Mobile customers will not have much attention span for a game that does not work well on demand, every time. (I believe) The game platform needs to be stable, and the game needs to be consistently supported by the developers for new customers attracted by any new mobile interface to be encouraged to remain. And  spend cash.

I hate to say it HCS but I actively discourage new players coming into my guild from spending money on this game. Knowing from experience how much can be required, and how patience and graft can get you to similar places in the long run. You have managed to turn existing customers against you, and have, in my case at least, caused them to encourage other players not to help your bottom line. One for the bean counters to consider there.

The game may go into the sunset. Many have before. That will be a pity, but I guess I'll get a lot of free time back!!

And this morning, a cloudflare 504, a database failure to connect and something else that froze me out.  Right on cue. Sigh.

But despite all that - I still log in, and can still enjoy this game. It has provided me with years of interest. It is not all negative, but the current outlook is not so good. Thanks.

More than one cow works on this game.. It has rarely felt like only one has over the past years otherwise.. More than one cow created the content that was released under 2 months ago.. Two or three or more cows must have worked on that.. From creation of quests, items and artwork and beyond to the ones that implement it and do the maintenance on it.. There is no way one cow is working on this game..

Even if they aren't operating at the pace i think they should I can't ignore the work that goes into the game at whatever pace they implement it..

Look, I'm not saying that work has not gone into this game.  There is a reason I still play it, but saying that, can't you admit that there has been crazy neglect going on lately?  I mean I'll go out on the limb and say that in the last year, a lot has been promised and not been achieved.  I understand that goals need to be set high, but even realistic goals have not been met.  By business standards, HCS has dropped the ball.  I would be okay even if the Cows set their goals lower so that my expectations don't get crushed when high goals aren't met.  It's demoralizing.

#921565 Quit setting us up for failure ..

Posted by Egami on 25 February 2015 - 23:05

I only came here because it was linked by BG. I only skimmed the first two pages and there are a lot of good points.

Here's my two cents for what it's worth:

"Back in the day", there was some set or other that our Guild had. I think it was perfect though it was not fully forged. It already served above and beyond for one-hitting creatures.

A new player came in and complained about it not being fully forged. In my patient Egami-manner, I gave a long explanation about how it wasn't necessary.

I then added for educational value that the player could feel free to forge it if they really thought it was necessary.

The player left... good riddance.

THE MORAL OF THE STORY:

You realize we just got the second-best chest in this run, right?

You realize that this a community event, right?

And so, in my opinion, what most people seem to be clamoring for is another "win button" to get the "best" thing available.

I'm 100% against it.

Let me put it into context: I worked my butt off in the second-to-last event to help the Community get pots which I, personally, believed to generally be considered to be the best in the gam, but yet have practically zero use for.

This round: the ruby were the chests that I happen to, personally, think are the best in the game for what I do.

I did 5,004 and I consider that a "fail". It's a fail for me on a personal level, but RL and game priorities prevented me from doing my best to get the chests that I think are the best in game. But I'm thankful for all those who put out to get to the frigging second-best level of Chests. For me, that rocked.

Did I deserve that? I don't think so, but it's debatable.

MY PERSONAL CONCLUSION:

If we believe the numbers, everything being constantly requested simply sounds like negative feedback and what people are asking for is for HCS to make it easier to hit the Ruby. So what... we need to assure that the FS Community gets the best reward with no effort?

I'll repeat: this is a Community Event.

And I'll ask to every single person out there: WTF have you done to inspire the community to participate?

THE SOLUTION:

The solution is not for HCS to make it easier... the solution is for you to take an active part in inspiring the community to get the top range. That's what these events are about for me.

Tounge-in-cheek: Instead of spouting off about top level players who spent a lot to max up their stam, had a car accident and family members diagnosed with terminal diseases... I ask you... what the heck have you done lately?

Quit telling players what they should do with their stam... you wouldn't let them do the same to you.

And more importantly: You want something? Do something to get it. The theme on GEs is perfectly clear (COMMUNITY) and paying FSP for the boxes is not the only way to make it happen.

#921177 Gargantuan Mosquitos IV (Global)

I don't really like this idea, it is suppose to be the community together, not guilds vs guilds.

Got exactly the same feeling about it.

There is something I would like to see, one extra Chest for the guild with more kills during the GE. (One for each player of the guild who achieved for the reward)

I know, there is a lot of big guilds vs small guilds, making high level player getting higher, etc.

But fot me that would add a lot of activity and interest on the Global Event, als the guild can have a new Achievement for that.

I don't really like this idea, it is suppose to be the community together, not guilds vs guilds.

#919465 What do --- or don't --- you like about PVP THREADS?

Posted by rowbeth on 13 February 2015 - 19:32

Couldn't resist this one - but thought I'd put it in just one thread.

Personally I'd have to say the extensive repetition of arguments with little sense of progression, and too little meeting of minds that were divided.

PS (added as edit) If you think this thread is just cynical, or critical, then maybe I could rephrase it to ask what is needed (or needs to be avoided) to create a PVP thread that succeeds in improving the game for everyone.
