As a veteran FS player, I'd like to say that this is a truly addictive game, simply because of all the friends I have made here....

You do have a point.... but I think your points are essentially the same, in as much as those that hate PvP so badly don't play the whole game, I think leefy is pointing out that PvP is an integral part of the game, it isn't going away, nor should it. And although there are countless threads about the topic in this forum, it has historically gotten the least overall attention as far as improvements are concerned than any other part of the game. It just gets nerfed nerfed nerfed. Time for us to get some good stuff, too....
My point is simple... this game has a lot to offer. some may want to do pvp, some may not. Some may want to chase SE's, some may not. You think PVP is nerfed, I think it's Over powered. I don't think it should go away but it should be fixed. I like some of what rocknoor suggested. Real PVP.
I do understand why some fight it tooth and nail and will send nasty PM's to anyone that dares take away the teeth PVP has. How else to punish players who dare break the unwritten rules of PVP or mouth off or send nasty PM's. Somehow I don't think that's the players job. Fix this and I'm all for it. Until then, can't wait to try it myself and see who complains.
It does disappoint me that some of the thinly veiled threats within this post as well as the goal of ostracizing players (Attack the whole guild until the target player is kicked out) is accepted practice.

getting really tired of all this PvP crap , A certain few PvPers XXXXXd up pvp by their own arrogant actions , , players left the game , now they want everyone else to approve a fix it so they can drive more players from the game, THIS IS JUST WRONG !!!!
sounds like someone needs some education and some extra attention in the find player list

Few players told and I will repeat. I would say yes to increasing range on someone above your level but not below you
this could be the compromise to make this thing happen.
only problem i can see with this is, if a lower person attacks a higher level its like a free hit, if the higher cant hit back..the attacked player should always be able to hit back..
a way round it could be, leave it as -10 levels, but change the + levels to the ranges in first post...
but if someone is attacked by a lower level from outside the -10 level range there has to be an option added to allow the attacker to hit back..they cant initiate a fight with a lower level out of range but can retaliate.

i think this idea is pretty logical as well.

The problem with PVP is the problem with many aspects of all games - people need to stop taking everything personally, and stop taking a game so gosh darn seriously.
Peace.

I don't know whether to laugh uncontrollably or just shake my head until I get a migraine. What a complete lack of understanding of the usage of Prestige Points to a leveler. First under Lou's proposal I'm going to expend a minimum of 4500 stam to get 450 prestige points which max's me out at 10% Prestige for 1 hour. Hunting with a Conserve 500 and an AM 500 I can get about 3.5 complete levels or about 175,000,000 XP for that amount of stamina. Why the heck would I waste that to get a 10% buff which gets me nowhere near that during the course of a hunt. In PvP terms that's like 100 stamming a leveler and then giving him/her 3.5X the gold that you stole. That suggestion is a complete non-starter for levelers.
Who says I'm appealing to someone who plays only a portion of the game(ie someone who only levels)? Hey, I level too. The point of my suggestion is to rid Prestige of collusion and manipulation, which is already rampant. Players should have to EARN Prestige!!
The point of Prestige is to reward PvP play since the presumption is that you will lose xp at some point. Prestige is NOT a tool to aid players who do NOT PvP. Trading hits every 3 days without any chance(risk) of being bountied needs to be eliminated. It hurts the integrity of the game. Broadening the attack range, which is the point of this thread, will allow traders and colluders even more impunity by allowing them to trade hits with more players. I believe Prestige should be a part of any discussion with any expansion of the PvP attack range.

The cap was introduced because some arenas had far more lucrative prizes than others. Without the cap, a single guild could monopolize that prize and control the market by flooding that arena as soon as is opened. Cornering the market could be achieved with a minimum of expense and effort because only a small number of arenas were worth winning.
With the current token system, and if the cap were removed, the only way a guild could monopolize everything in the arena would be to flood ALL of the tournaments. No single tournament is worth more than any other, so the reason for the cap no longer applies.

They somewhat did that and increased activity was for short period when they made arena token based. We need long term not short term. Mary times have changed can't use an arguement that was valid in the past because now a days it just makes no sense.
