implementing pvp ladder was mistake to begin with and if HCS need make more changes for ladder then you give them more work and they have lot of work now with fallen sword and other games

 

I see updates on pvp ladder and players still saying it is broken

if pvp ladder is broken then easy, get rid of ladder and give back original pvp system, problem solved :)

Opt 6:
- Open Ladder, without the 'Opt-In' system.
- Bounties allowed.
- Without attacks on guildmates.
- No Attack = No Tokens and no Dominance Medal ticks.

Option 6 can be good with this suggestion for new ladder system

 

1.  Remove the rating and start from 0

 

2.  Points will be obtained by using 10-100 stamina hits, maybe 1 point per 10 stamina

 

3.  If the defender wins an incoming attack he/she will earn 2x of normal attack points (means 2 points for incoming 10 stamina hit 4 if it was 20 stam... 20 from 100 stam)

>Optional> 2x xp loss for attacker too

 

4.  You gain 0.5x of normal points if the target didn't hit anyone till they hit anyone then you can get normal points from the target. (something to stop farming)

>Optional> 0.5 xp loss too

 

Or "Revenge Attack" instead of point #4 and this how i think it could work

 

-Targeted player will have option to revenge attack if they got attacked by same attacker more than once without hitting the attacker.

 

-Targeted player can take 2x points with 2x incoming attacks..3x with 3x incoming attacks ..4x with 4x incoming attacks...etc, so if the target getting farmed 10x times by same attacker they can take back all points by 1 revenge attack and if the target lost during a revenge attack they will lose xp equal to the stacked incoming attacks! RISK lovers do you like it ? :P

you should be able to use up to 1000 stamina for an attack. id love to see that added.

EOC - End of Content - getting there quickly or even at all (no wish to be there) is a path chosen by some.  Many of us appreciate the wandering road in between where PVP, Titan Hunting, GvG, Arena, Potion Making, SE Hunting, etc and did I mention PvP :) are enjoyed.  I actually envy you a bit as your level was such a fun PvP level when I was there.

Look around - enjoy the journey enjoying all the by-roads and then you'll truly find why so many of us are still around and why some of us, like myself, wandered away, but couldn't stay away.

I did not look, so pardon me, be sure you're in an active guild that has people more knowledgeable than yourself, and who are enjoying the game's many aspects.

No game is for everyone it's true, but there's a lot here and getting to end of content isn't the most interesting of them in my opinion.

The problem I seem to have is that even to get to a decent point in the game seems to take a year or more. That someone can drop a lot of money and time on this game and not get there in 4+ years is a bit weird. I'll stick around a bit just to see what all happens in this game, but I just find that it's a bit jarring to see 2200 levels of content and with all the super stuff I can't even get to 200... which seems to be a month or more away even if I hop online every day to be truthful.

One tip... sitting with max stam and doing nothing will slow your progress. :)

I came back to this game on 9/10/14 and was Level 25 With 750 Stamina Points.

So, in 20 days, you've gained 112 levels and increased your stamina from 750 to 1605 - I, for one, call that pretty good progress.

 

I still fail to see why reaching the (current) end of the game is such a "hurdle" for players.

 

New players have :-

 

1. MUCH better gear available than when us "old-timers" started

2. MUCH better buffs available

3. MUCH easier upgrades to characters without actually having to donate

4. Better "deals" if/when players donate - there were no epic potions and/or 20% offers back in the day

5. The "starter pack" - a MASSIVE boost for VERY little investment

6. A (albeit still not perfect) "training session" to start the game - we were just "thrown in" - took some of us days to figure out that there was more to the game than killing rats and then being demolished by "The Ethereal Guardian" before he was moved

etc. etc. etc.

The game isn't about a mad stampede to get to the end (well, for some it is I suppose) but if you can't, then sit back and enjoy the journey :)

Working on the assumption that Hoof will maintain existing PvP and that this suggestion is not a precursor to that going - and where this assumption has sprung from, I have no idea. BUT ...

 

I really fail to see why PvP'rs are SO vehemently against this ?

 

Folk can try this system out with no risk and, if they like it, make the transition to "real" PvP.

 

Isn't that a WIN for your camp ? - seems to be in my opinion at least.

I'd like to ask that not all future higher level LE's be released into the caves. We higher levels like to play around in the fields too.

 

For Sure ... hunting them in the realms is infinitely preferable to the caves - even if you have to kill hundreds to get a drop or two.

From what im getting this is something entirely separate from nearly everything PVP related currently in the game, in the sense it won't replace or change anything right? So ill go with that, pretty much it would be a lot similar to composing. You would have a leveling system, to which each level would unlock something new right?

 

How in depth do we want to go with this though it can be as simple as earning a level and gaining or losing XP, maybe earning some decent potions, resources, maybe new armor, bounty tickets, etc. But potions in this instance should all be PVP related, no Lightfoots, Adept Learners, Brew Masters and what have you. You cap it like composing, and instead of composing you would be able to lose xp as well as earn it. Maybe just allot points based off of wins, or cash in XP you earn as ways to buy the prizes(A small percent could go to the side similar to contributed guild xp but like Prestige you would burn it up when using it but only the required amount for the prize not the whole lot of it), or even go with Prestige to be the way to cash in? The higher your PVP level the better unlocks, or maybe even more xp gained per win?

 

Attacker would gain X xp and the Defender would lose Y xp provided there was a loss, but you would be able to earn more xp for winning a conflict(Be it on the attack or defense). So lets say attacker gains 100 XP for the win and defender loses 50 XP, however the attacker does not take the other persons XP only new XP so no XP transfer. So you could potentially incorporate it with the Bounty board so you could earn and lose PVP XP. But i guess that could be decided at a different time and maybe not include PVP XP. But it would also have to be decided on how much xp is gained from a regular 10 stam vs 100 stam, as well as the leveling XP between each level.

 

 

But i would say between the two of them Option 1, it's more likely to succeed and maybe less headache too. Hopefully i didn't stray to far from what your aiming at :)

How about instead of replacing the ladder with the (xp pvp) concept or making it its own category on pvp we add pieces of it the pvp we have already. (Hopefully it all makes sense soon enough)

 

 

Normal / Ladder Attacks

 

1. Normal hits are still bounty able.

 

 

2. Ladder hits are not bounty able.

 

 

3. 10 Stamina and 100 stamina hits for Normal and Ladder give experience lost from target to winner. ( Rating applies normally for Ladder )

 

I.E xxxx Lost 200,000 Experience ; yyyy gained 200,000 Experience ( 10 stam ) 

I.E. yyyy Lost 2,000,000 Experience ; xxxx gained 2,000,000 Experience ( 100 Stam)

 

 

5. Attack range in increase from  10 +/-  too   25 +/-

I.E. Level 1000 can hit from 975 – 1025, instead of 990 – 1010.

 

 

4. Prestige stays the same. Every 3 days you can gain.

 

 

5. Gold Stealing stays the same too.

 

 

 

GvG Attacks

 

1. No Gold loss

2. No experience loss

3. No Prestige

4. No experience gaining

 

 

Bounty board

 

1. Can gain Experience from the loser.

2. Can bounty and Bounty hunter.

3. Gold stealing stays the same.

4. 10 Stamina hits = 1% Stolen Experience

5. 100 Stamina hit = 10% Stolen Experience

 

I.E.  xxx Lost 2,000,000 experience; yyy gains 20,000 experience ( 10 stam ) Bounty

I.E. yyy Lost 20,000,000 experience; xxx gains 2,000,000 experience ( 100 Stam ) Bounty

Many comments have been and sent via Pm to me and through other people about the concept I brought up. Negative or positive doesn’t matter, but ill address the issue now even though this none of this from forum will initially be added.

 

The issue: Lower levels will easily gain many levels through this form of pvp xp, through the partaking of 100 stamming an individuals on the Bounty Board 100’s and even 1000’s levels away from them.

 

The remedy: Look at GvG, there where issues that multi guilds have been created and a score of them attacking each other and gaining lots of RP? This involved low level players, so to fix this now you must be at least Level 50 to participate in a GvG.

 

Look at composing; a player that just started the game doesn’t even have the option show in their menu to compose. It starts at Level 50.

 

What I’m trying to say, if you don’t already get the hint is that This form pvp ex gain I brought up (which apparently others did at some other point as well) can have a set minimum that you can start to gain experience from players you attack.  This doesn’t mean a level 5 player can’t pvp and hit another player for gold and such or for fun, yes some people pvp for fun. Its simply stating that you have to be a certain level to gain steals experience from a player. This can be set at level 50, even better level 200.

 

Again levels 1-200 can still gain Prestige, Bounty hunt, GvG at level 50, play the Ladder, and gain pvp medal, but to steal Experience you have to be a certain level.

Much is being said on this topic about exp/and pvp hits but it remains unclear to almost everything an change like that would affect relating to all aspects of the game that it would influence. What happen to:

 

Pvp (in general):

  • Will there be any exp loss (from leveling) in any type of pvp (ladder, normal attack or bounty board/ excepton is gvg)?
  • Will counter bounties still works as previous bounties (or based on pvp exp loss only)?
  • Will gold always be lost in any pvp (except gvg)? (if so and the pvp risk-free be added, won’t it make gold hits way more often to the point to make fsp market almost inviable in the long run?/ gold would be at an higher risk this way / Bounty board would be greatly influenced by that change either in amount and quality (depending on the type of exp on the play))
  • What will be the use of Pvp Protection (new player has and that can also be bought on gold upgrades) and Protect exp (fsp upgrade)?
  • Does normal leveling exp is lost if pvp exp is zero?
  • If not, What will be the use of honor, bastion an body guard if you have zero pvp exp if the combat (in case) only make you lose pvp exp?

 

Pvp prestige:

  • Will it be changed too?
  • Will it work on all pvp attack (except gvg)?
  • Will you used pvp exp to buy pvp prestige?
  • Will you be able to specify the amount of pvp prestige you want to use per time?

 

Bounty board:

  • Would an player be able to be placed on the bounty board with that new system even without making the player attacked to lose no exp? (if so, isn’t it unfair?)
  • Does the player on the board only lose pvp exp? (if yes, What would be the benefit to spend gold/fsp to place sb on BB)
  • Does the player that accept the bounty only lose pvp exp if he lose an combat against the player on bb?
  • Does the player that accept the bounty only lose pvp exp or normal exp if they be placed on the bounty board?
  • Will there be two types of bounty board (one with leveling exp loss and another with pvp exp loss)?

 

Ladder

  • What of the things mentioned before applies for the ladder?

 

Pvp exp

  • What would it be used for?
  • What will be the benefit of “leveling” in pvp?

(I believe it would not be converted by leveling exp otherwise player would start leveling by pvp only, but still nothing concrete (if it will or not happen) about it was really said)

I’m not an pvper and I still don’t agree with an change like that on pvp ‘cause it looks like it is trying to benefit only some players on this point. If there is an risk it must apply for all, if something like that take place so also remove all type of risk from the game (exp loss when losing again an creature, gold loss agains creature/pvp, bounty board, the ladder in all, arena (the risk to lose gold and gain no match), inventing (so you won’t lose gold/item if it fail) | if those changes be made to be fair for all to have no risk it would almost destroy the game in itself.) We daily do with any sort of risk at any time that we need to deal with. So why to remove only one type of risk from the game (rather remove all or keep all them. For sure changes can be made, either to soften or make it harder, but extinguishing risk is non natural).
