#980349 Reached current Composing level cap.

Maybe at lvl 60, one could turn to using composing as it was intended, to make glorious pots for your guild members, like smiley does for us....  They all have the most delightful names :)

#980247 GvG rework proposal

well my 3 cents worth as there are only on average 250 players on ,dont think anything will revive gvg

If you have so much disdain for the game and for the ideas of players (and staff, as I have observed now and then), why even show up?  Such negativity can only be toxic for the rest of us.

Keep in mind that 250-400 online players doesn't mean it's the same players 24/7.  This is a worldwide game, and I'm sure ALL of us sleep, eat, have real life stuff to do.

Only the cow gods know how many actual active players there are in total, and "online now" only reflects how many of those are here NOW, which is kind of self explanatory.

I may or may not agree with suggestions made in this forum, but I try to keep an open mind, as I know it's not all about me.

#980246 Suggested new addition to the Daily Quest

Posted by BadPenny on 27 April 2017 - 13:44

Actually, Josh, those of us that cannot donate get our allegiance tokens mostly through the DQ.  At 5 per day, it takes a long time to save up enough for even a dbl 1200.... and a GB takes even longer....

A much more useless DQ is to perform "x" kills to a titan, or invent "x" items, or break down "x" items, for a piddling amount of current stam....  All are way too frustrating to even attempt on a cell phone....

It's not even supposed to be about the rewards in any case, it's supposed to be about renewed activity...

#980236 Quantity Selling

To a point I like the Idea but then the AH would just be one hugh BP for some players.... And for some it already is just that.... Now if the AH charged players a Listing Tax  that may cut down on it being used for storage.....

shhhh, somebody might hear you......

(hoof, pay no mind to this man behind the curtain, please)

#980176 GvG rework proposal

their not paying you, you're making your own guild profit lol

and if decline payment then dont moan about repair costs

best thing they can do for gvg atm is stop gvg from damaging the defenders gear, because its fairly apparant no change is going to happen, cows dont care about pvp/gvg much anymore =)

A.  I'm in no way whining about any costs..... just stating a fact...

It's not what my guild can do for me, but what I can do for my guild.... They are my family.

B.  GvG is a good way to promote solidarity and teamwork within the guild.  And we all benefit from RP packs which are used frequently for the good of the entire guild...

C.  GvG is SOFT PvP as it is, it needs no further dumbing down for the faint hearted....  But it does need some long overdue attention.

#980155 GvG rework proposal

Let me guess, you gvg by spending fsps or at your guilds expense so you enjoy it. If you didn't spend fsps or have a guild supporting you specially with that gear, you wouldn't enjoy it. That would give you a good idea of how reality is outside LWS, ND, SA etc guilds that don't pay. Think about the majority of people who GVG, don't be so narrow minded.

I generally spend as little as possible.  I use my own buffs, pick my own targets, use my own gear.  I don't ask nor expect any recognition, I get my satisfaction from being able to meet the challenge of defeating a possibly superior opponent...Granted, a lot will take the easy out, but maybe a "seasons" approach will encourage those with like minds, that do it for the sheer fun of it, that crave a true challenge, to participate, rather than stagnate into 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,0,r, rinse and repeat.

As Rye said before about the difference between this and the smasher medal, the differences here between GvG and the ladder are also apples and oranges.  On the ladder, you not only lose rating with every loss, but massive amounts of XP, as 100 stam hits are ALWAYS used, not only to get that rating, but to get that smasher tick.  GvG is pillow fighting, the only risk anyone takes is the loss of RP along with some damage to gear for both parties involved.  We're not "opting in" for GvG now, those that do participate pick a guild they think might be a good fit for whatever reason, and swing away their 25 hit limit for each participant of the initiating guild, and the defending guild can hit back, hoping for a self defense win or at least a tie.  Those that are defending have few ways of knowing who is actually being hit if they are offline, and with a large guild, it's virtually impossible to buff every target involved.

Maybe there should be an opt in system in place for GvG.  Some FS players are totally uninterested in it as they are ANY form of PvP, even though the only losses they may sustain are in the form of lost RP and overall ranking and whatever gold the target players have to spend to repair.  I know I have spent a pretty penny on several occasions....  It's all part of the game for me, but others just feel differently about it.

The fact is that few changes have been made to the GvG system in all these years, with more focus going into other aspects of the game that folks feel more important.  Regardless whether this or some other idea is considered, isn't it time GvG got a little attention as well?

#980095 Shadow Bunny Assault!

Posted by BadPenny on 24 April 2017 - 20:06

Since he has added me to his ignore list, Cu cannot read that I actually got more kills than he did, with less than 3K stam, on a tiny little Walmart phone, AND I managed to clear 500 champions AT THE SAME TIME!  Methinks he grouses too much

BACK ON TOPIC

Thanks for the lovely event!  I actually used the app to do this one on my phone, since my tablet is on the blink and I only had my phone to work with...  and it worked out well, even though I had to manually look for the champs I was hunting along with my little bunnies (I actually killed very few eggs, just killing them to clear a square out of OCD).  Anyhow, these type of events are my favorites, I love critters that drop uniques as they seem to be the hardest frags for me to acquire....  Looking forward to the next, which I will ALSO use the app to complete... (Hopefully a counter will be added to the app soon)

#980094 GvG rework proposal

I like this idea.  It can not only serve to spark new life into an exciting part of FS play, but also give some recognition to otherwise ignored players/guilds....

I frequently participate in GvG for SA, mostly defending against such as RA (<3 you guys), etc.  Yeah, the repairs can be excessive, especially if you go offline in full epics.....  My advice?  If you are in a defending guild, prepare yourself, wear an offline defensive kit rather than your epics, go ahead and purchase deflect and erosion before leaving for the day... stuff like that, if you anticipate you might be a favored target.  Those of us on the attacking end are going to look, and if you look costly to us, or have a good set up that might cause us to lose, we'll move on to an easier pigeon, same as in normal PvP.

#980014 It's about time to balance out those overpowered pots in PvP.

Posted by BadPenny on 22 April 2017 - 00:20

So, what about potions that have ALWAYS been in the game, since their inception.  Like EW 1k, Bez 300 & 350, Wither, etc.   These are common potions bought from the specials section of the AH, or potion Bazaar.  You want to drop these as well?  We might as well go the whole nine yards, roll back everything to the way it was when EOC was barely 200....

Buff are a plus in this game, and so many don't even know how to use them effectively...  How many go hunting using an epic weapon, for example, with coordinated attack and defense running?  That one non set item negated the entire buff, seeing as it requires 9 set pieces to even work, yet I know people use them all the time.  KE and SH are most effective with several 2-3 piece sets.....

There's lots of you I can't defeat in any way, not because of our buff, but because of where my points lie, or a distinct disparity of levels.   Others are a piece of cake.   This is particularly true when doing a GvG (sorry, Chooma, GvG is still a PvP issue, regardless of the purpose of this thread, and where a lot of the debate is arising here) or clearing a bounty.  As I'm rarely attacked except for the occasional DQ or prestige hitter, I have no current data on that, however, I usually go offline in full epics.... NONE of the uber buffs will help me there....  So for defense, when I have a heavy pocket, I get deflect and erosion just out of spite....

In the end, buffs and how we use them are OPTIONAL, and we have to remember that you need the correct gear/buff combination regardless of whether they're all 175, or something higher derived from some potion.

I do want to say here that a DC 500 is a little OP, but it's not PvP specific, and has practical applications for hunting....  but we said the same thing when FI 1k came out, something about balance, I believe....

If we're going to lose any big buff pots, then ALL should go, up to and including those that have no use for PvP....
