 Allegiance Tokens are gained by donating and logging in.  If you are someone who doesnt donate at all  or very often you probably dont have a lot of tokens.  I think they should also be given for being active in the game not just logging on but actually interacting.

 

My idea would to give tokens for interacting in the game..  So you would have goals basically getting X tokens for killing Y# of SEs  and X tokens if you kill Y# of titans or if you gain X # of levels in the month or X tokens for completing # of quests or completing a # of bountys. This would be on a monthly basis..  This gives players something to do and maybe get players to try parts of the game the normally wouldnt.

 

Also new items might need to be added to the rewards page maybe something for composing or a potion to help craft items perfect..  

Not sure if this was ever discussed before

I haven't read this whole thread, just the first 10 pages, but anyway....

 

A 1-hit bounty takes no skill to do, since people won't even notice they've been posted before it's all over. It takes away the ability to "dance" and have fun on there, buffing up and switching setups. That suggested change makes me sad. I like having fun.

 

I do like that the suggested changes would increase the amount of bounties available, but why even bother doing bounties when it's more or less auto-win, since the target would be a sitting duck? I don't get it. If people hold a lot of gold, they usually are aware that they might get hit, but if the system decides who to bounty and when, how is that even fun?

 

I like to make my own decisions in life, and that goes for my gaming-life as well. I don't like my choices to be removed and turned into some sort of randomized thing, decided by a computer, and based on how much gold I have or haven't lost. 

 

 

I don't care if I lose a few levels, but I do care about whether or not I'll be able to defend myself on the bounty board. I also care about a LOT of people in this game, and I enjoy helping them extract revenge when they get smashed for no reason. Not everyone loves pvp, but it is a pvp game, and there are plenty of pvpers in the game. Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that the changes to the BB would be great since no guild would be able to "endlessly take 5 levels" from someone anymore.... but like I said, you can't do that in this old system either, if the TARGET is innocent anyway. But what about the person that the TARGET has been hitting over and over again? If that person doesn't like getting hit and isn't a pvper, but holds no gold? With this new system they will not be able to get the hitter to stop hitting them, because they will not be able to bounty them, and the system will not bounty them either cuz they stole no gold. How is that fair? How long would that person wanna stick around for and keep acting as a punching bag? To take away the ability for people to help drop someone like that..... it'd a bad idea.

 

As someone who loves stealing gold, I could just be a bit selfish and say "yay, no more risk of getting punished!" and just sit back and watch this unfold, but ... no. I don't like it.

 

Also, lastly.... someone said that all pvpers will probably be alone in the higher brackets. It's possible, but then how would all the levelers that enjoy a bit of prestige get what they want? And... most pvpers don't pvp nonstop, but a few weeks here and there... we'd be in ALL brackets. Especially the ones at EOC, since we usually have huge stam-banks that need a bit of relaxed waiting to refill. So yeah... putting SOME sort of level cap between brackets would probably be a good idea... maybe at lvl 500, 1500?

 

Anyway... please don't destroy the bounty board, let people decide if/when to bounty, and keep it at 10 hits.

From what I have read and understand.....now a Guildmate can be hit hourly....and their Guild can do absolutely nothing to help them (retaliate) ...unless you sit staring at the BB for 24 hours a day and hope the person gets bountied......THEN.....you get to smash them once with 50 stam??   OMG......just when I started to enjoy PvP..... it DIES......this sounds crazy.....    Might be time to retire!  :)

You mean a highly vocal minority? It's ten pages of a half dozen players posting repeatedly. The same was true of Titan Cooldown. That didn't destroy the game. This won't either.

 

The Bounty Board should not have been used by Guilds to destroy other players. It was. It most certainly should not have been used in such a fashion for 'remarks'.

 

Sadly, this attitude has been the problem for a long time. No one 'destroyed' other players. No one ever lost levels on the Bounty Board without hitting someone. This is the way the game has always been played, and you're destroying it with this change, not saving it.

 

But really, just answer one question. In this new system, what option are you leaving your players to defend themselves?

While I agree with the original "vocal minority" point (I've always been against assuming that what goes on in this FS Forum represents majority opinion/feeling), I would like to point out a couple things about the portion I quoted:

 

1. Nothing destroys other players. 

2. The game has/had a design. BB and the reaction to it was "implemented" by players following HCS design. 

3. BG, you have your opinion. That's "valid" in my book... like any other that follows HCS protocol, but "punishment" in my book should be valued based on the game design, no matter what one's personal opinions are.

 

What is offensive to you, may not be offensive to me. What is offensive to me, may not be offensive to you. THE REAL ISSUE IS FOLLOWING HCS GUIDELINES. One would hope that absolutely everyone is confined to those guidelines and that, IF THERE IS AN ISSUE, they are changed accordingly. 

 

To keep this all absolutely 100% on topic... 

 

What I see (and that is just my opinion) is that the major issue (from some) is the lack of recourse to punishing people via the BB. I'm concerned that it reduces the entire point of the game, but there is way too much history involved.

 

I do see "some recourse" in the current proposal. I am also confident that I can, if I choose, smack players in the top Guilds on a "relatively" regular basis. 

 

All in all, it seems "interesting" to me. 

 

To sum up... 

 

It most certainly should not have been used in such a fashion for 'remarks'.

Can you tell us what it was "meant to do"? 

 

Again, let me make this really clear: HCS has "rules". I choose, as an FS player, to do what I will as long as they are within those rules.

Guildmates - this is what still keeps majority of us here, and ability to defend each other means a lot, as it needs a group of people to stick for each, sacrifice time/fsp/stam but now you want to take this of us???? You will let now to be attacked by anybody and attack anybody without any risk to lose pretty much anything, well it will lose any interest to play... not everyone here willing to level because its a boring part of this game and if Bounty Board will be destroyed I can guarantee you will see many players just stopped playing this game...this game will be for levelers only.

It is really bad bad bad idea to make this update for BB...improve it but not remove it...

Thank you HCS for coming up with an idea that will destroy guilds abilites to defend themselves. This bounty board idea is ridiculous at best. A single 50 stam hit clears a bounty as opposed to being able to smash the player for their hit and their remarks. Sends a great message that the guilds who actually stuck together and grew together to defend one another are now stuck with only the idea of leveling since pvp has now been destroyed with this pillowfight bounty board. You would think that with the sheer number of complaints presented in the past 10 pages that the bounty board ideas would be looked at once again before implementing something that clearly most don't want.

I am really dissapointed, after 6 years of constantly watering down pvp and then telling us that the new system will move how pvp used to be, we get a system that is even watering down pvp even more

 

bounty board:

1 hit bounties? seriously? 50 stam will take the same xp as a 100 stam would curently take but that means everyone will get a soft clear (10 x 10 stam) from the BB, no more punishment on the BB

 

in the orignal pvp system you could lose unlimited levels on the BB, then it was watered down to 5 levels and now to a soft clear

 

gold hitters will be at disadvantage in the new system , getting bountied but someone smashing for xp will not be bountied

 

no more bosting bounties by players??

 

no more smashing bounties or defending guildmates??

 

Titan League:

domcorvis is right, this favors EOC and high composers (lucky me tongue.png )

 

2500 vs 250 player? does not matter how good a pvpr the 250 player is, he has no chance of winning

 

how does deflect work, will it be removed??

 

when will you remove the ladder, this week when you start testing the new system?

 

what about ladder tokens? the promised new rewards never came for years and the current ladder items are worth next to nothing

 

 

I only see 2 good things from this pvp system

 

1) xp prestige (bound)

 

2) 'open pvp' but I have been playing this game for years and think they will make pvp protection very cheap or extend it a lot

Dominance medal becomes extinct? Are you serious? I've spent more stam, time, fsps on that medal than anything else. Can I get a refund?

 

No more smasher medal? Or a nerfed medal? Thanks for making all the stam, time, and XP lossed worth nothing.

play the game.....level...if smashed ...smash back  (probs lose 5 cause the smasher is prob's a double dipper) and will have his guild hit you anyways,,,,and you will lose 5.....but,.....at least you smashed back......lolz....level some more......its all good.....its all the challenge of the game.....if the game was easy....it would no longer be fun......stop complaining and "live a little"....level and smash.....and beware of the GvP.........   :D

And its comments like this, with snide little shots taken that present you in the light in which you've been taken.

 

Though PVP from the good old days is gone from dancing on the boards, the complaints from players becoming targets have  never changed and I've read countless posts over the years in regards of how to not make yourself a target. Nonetheless people still refuse to follow even those simple rules and find themselves on the recieving end of such attacks. There are not that many bloodthirsty pvpers that will just relentlessly attack someone without some form of provocation anymore and if theres too much gold onhand, then guess what, an attack is coming. You get hit and choose to send a pm degrading one of those players, same result.  Lots of times theres always a follow up action that leads to players being hit repeatedly but not many want to consider this and take responsibility for their reaction to the initial hit. And it also amuses me that people think they can freely hit anyone they want and by using the excuse of prestige farming, seem to think that justifies them getting a free shot...this is not how the game works.

Another issue that always seems to present itself is how, as pvpers, we're accused of ganging up in our "bully guilds" of evil pvpers. Lets stand back and take a look at this using The Evil Dead as an example. Sure we're a guild full of pvpers who have been known to stomp people for hundreds of levels relentlessly when provoked but generally we'll take the 5 levels and leave it in the hands of the other player. Send us degrading comments, threaten us, or even post up silly fs box messages and chances are you'll be losing alot more than 5 but simple understanding of the situation and 5 will be fair enough. What nobody wants to realize is pvp is not what we're all about. Titan hunting...I could tell you when the cooldown is on any titan just by seeing our guild logs on any given day and which we've secured. Arena...we got tons of players who win quite frequently and whose advice is actually leading me into working towards the next medal tier...huge thanks to those players as well. Ladder..well, no need to get into this aspect. Composing, quests, sound game advice, guild chat activity...helpfulness...list goes on.

My point though is that I commonly see guild recruiting posts promising a guild of like-minded players and are usually specific in what type of players they are seeking..be that pvpers, levelers, titan hunters, arena players...but Evil Dead is always lumped in as a PVP guild specifically because nobody wants to realize we've done what we've done quietly. It's our willingness to recruit players that want to learn the entire game that makes us as great as we are.  And because of that we are very successful in whatever we choose to entertain ourselves with on a given day....sure we're ruthless in pvp but with that comes players that are willing to buff our pvpers knowing that they've also spent their stamina to protect themselves if need be. Our levelers can sleep well knowing that they have protection if they forget to bank their gold, our composers know that their selfless acts of making free pots for guild use always comes back from people farming items just to rebuild their fragment banks...so on and so on. We've recruited selfless players that are all willing to come together as a team and help out the rest of their guild in the manner they know best and also willing to give and take advice to make their game better in all aspects that they choose to explore.

Next time I see a post for "like-minded" players, maybe it should be changed to selfless players who are willing to grow in the game. Why limit to one thing when you can succeed in all things. And for cows sake, quit sending messages via pm or fs box or even the forums without standing back and thinking about what it's going to lead to...calm down and think about it first.

We're still reviewing the PvP and plan to implement a new and improved tournament system, which will replace the current ladder. Every effort will be taken to ensure PvP is a vibrant and fun part of Fallen Sword. More details will follow! 

 

 


PvP Ladder revamp (PvP Tournaments)

The PvP Ladder in it current format sucks (there I said it!). We're going to implementing an awesome new PvP Tournament system to replace it. We'll give out more details of this in the new year along with when we expect it to be ready to take part in.

 

 

Over the years as the game's evolved, we feel that many of the PvP discussions and changes have actually been detrimental to PvP and essentially watered down what was once a really important part of the game.

 

Any discussions on PvP on the forum usually are split 50/50 on whether the community thinks they're a good idea or not and I feel it kinda creates a divide. We'd actually like to see PvP move back towards how it used to be back when the game first launched as it was something that was exciting and vibrant - I'm sure many players who have been around that long will remember the difference!

 

So to answer your question - we're going to focus on adding a new PvP tournament system (and at the same time remove the ladder) without changing 'normal' PvP in the game. I do think many aspects of normal PvP also need improved (such as the bounty board), but any changes we do make will be to improve it, not dilute it :)

 

We won't be removing xp loss from normal PvP and the ladder will be completely replaced by the new tournaments. I don't think we'll be changing how Prestige works :)

 

the only thing hoofmaster and mojawk said about pvp is

  • pvp tournament will replace the pvp ladder
  • xp loss will stay
  • pvp has been watered down for years
  • pvp in general changes will be done to improve it and not to dilute it

HCS never said anything about how the pvp tournament would look like or when they will launch it

 

my previous post was not about the new pvp tournament but about pvp in general

 

before my last hunt I only had 3 players in my range, 2 were guild mates and that left me with only 1 single player to pvp for 2 months (2 players came into my range during their hunts but I got deflected by them and they managed to level out of my range in 15-20 minutes)

 

I fail to see how having 1 single player to pvp for months is going to increase pvp activity, please increase the attack range

I used to have over 200 targets in my range years ago when we had 3500 online players, now the most I can have in my range are 5 if I am lucky

 

now we have 400-500 online players and why are you not increasing the attack range is beyond my understanding if you really want to improve pvp activity in general, lately I tried some gold hits, gold theft rate is very low compared to how it used to be

 

the + / - 10 attack range is too low now, it was reasonable when EOC was at 200-250 with 3500 online players but now we have EOC at 2475 with 400-500 online players

 

EOC increased by a factor of 10 and the online players decreased by a factor of 7 and the only reasonable thing would be to increase the attack ranges too

 

please increase attack range
