Community's thought on another potion composing slot?

25 March 2015 - 23:47

I've been toying with the idea a bit about posting in regards to adding an additional composing slot beginning at level 1.

Before you jump to your first gut reaction, let me briefly explain.

The point, at it's core, of composing is a gold/useless item sink, which it does expertly. Additionally, it gives players of all level and skill another aspect of the game to look forward to and enjoy. It also builds guild loyalty and provides members with even greater purpose.

Forget the few that travel guild to guild, and overlook the powerfulness of the buffs themselves (they can be tuned down if need be), without the few exceptions, composing is a great aspect of Fallen Sword.

Adding another slot could increase leveling of all players, if they want it to. Players that want to level up "twice as quickly" from level 1 to 10 would also have to buy frags at a more quick rate and would also have to spend gold to create potions twice as quickly as the current standard.

I've read all across the forums about people being upset with too many frags and killing the frag market, but with a second slot for composing, frags would diminish twice as quickly, the price of frags would increase, and players would have greater reason to stay in the game, and potentially Global Events would be more heavily participated in.

It is unlikely that many players will hit "EOC" in regards to composing level any time in their FS career, so the concern that this would make leveling too easy is irrelevant. Especially because if players are reaching the max level for composing, that means they have spent a tremendous (anyone with the exact amount?) amount of gold to get there, extensive lengths of time, and are most likely very devoted and happy with their FS character!

This would just be another means to further boost an excellent aspect of the game, and further improve the benefits that it produces.

Inactive Top Players

17 February 2015 - 19:56

I believe that another player, Badpenny perhaps, touched on this once in global chat.

I've noticed that in my monthly top ten (November 2014) the number one and two players are both inactive, the number one has been inactive for what must be close to two months now, and they are both still in the top ten. Maybe I misread the update where they would no longer be in the top ten, or I could be mistaken, but are they supposed to still be there?

Any insight is appreciated!

Titan Cycles

11 February 2015 - 20:53

Is there some sort of titan cycle system in the game?

What I mean by this is, I've noticed that several weeks ago Krakens and Lestuses were spawning daily and other titans were non-existent. Now the opposite holds true, which makes me wonder if there is an implicit or explicit cycle of titans where some spawn for X number of weeks while others do not and vice versa.

Additionally, if there is, I'd love to know how that system works and when the originally group of titans (the ones I can actually hit  ;) ) will begin spawning again!

Thank you to anyone who helps

An idea to help improve the PVP Ladder

15 January 2015 - 16:04

Has it ever been considered to remove or dampen the xp and lost during PVP Ladder attacks? I lost about 2 levels in 3 days to players that clearly only PVP (which is perfectly fine) and have since stepped off the ladder for this week.

My first week on the ladder, there were 3, and the next 5, and now again 3. None of the players quit the game, they simply quit the ladder because you cannot efficiently level and play on the ladder.

I suppose, perhaps, that the ladder is just a more extreme version of PVP, but it's a dead aspect of the game that I think if the penalties did not far outweigh the returns on would make a comeback.

I'd love to see a ladder with 30 players on it only battling for PVP rating, not gold or to destroy each others' levels. That'd be actual competition. The way it's set up now is just a blood-sport entices players to avoid, rather than take part in.

Additionally, if there was no "real" penalty to assets, it may be an area of the game that certain new players really find enjoyable and stick with. I'm not saying it would recruit thousands to the game, but if it kept even 100 new active players in the game, that would be worth it to the Cows and community I would think.

Just a thought!

Until then, you may see me in a realm, but you won't see me on the ladder.
