IE 5k for a 20 (40xp) potion, as many times as you want...

Hmm, yes. I like the idea of buying and then sending buffs to others too.

 

So with that said, HCS would need to fix the buffs being cast when blocked 'bug'.

 

HCS shouldn't idiot proof the game which is what people are asking for with the, "Duh I have that skill blocked, why did it get cast when I bought it!"

 

But, we can't be expected to know what buffs our friends have blocked.

So for that reason alone I think I will change my vote.

So a player gets hit and then they decide to place a bounty.

 

For example, the player then uses their bounty tickets to place a 'most wanted' sticker on the BB and also offers a gold/FSP reward for their would-be hero who took down the transgressor.

 

Now I believe the OP's issue is with this reward (that was meant to go to their mercenary hero) being lost to oblivion.

This gold/FSP amount was not part of the cost for posting the bounty (That's what the tickets were for)

 

If the reward isn't claimed then why do HCS get to keep it?

(This is what I'm reading as the original problem)

 

 

 

An other way to 'fix' this issue would be to have the system work in a similar way to the current MP.

You pay for your bounty with the tickets, then you offer your desired reward whether it be gold/FSP

(gold would need to be available from banked funds also to prevent player collusion from depleting a players funds and nullifying the bounty)

 

Then once the reward is won the funds are removed from the player, however if the bounty expires then nothing happens. (As it shouldn't really as noone has claimed the reward)

For the record though, I personally don't agree that being the highest ranked xp player does warrant being given the moniker 'best player' so I AM all in favour of a name change.

 

And while I'm not against a new medal being introduced that could possible better represent a 'overall best player' title, I really don't think it is even possible. Medal counting doesn't work, since there is no way to break a tie that could involve identical medal count using different medals, without giving certain medals preference over others. (which I would be dead-set against)

 

A community poll would be a sham, merely devolving into a popularity contest.

 

Perhaps some kind of behind the scenes checklist the game keeps track of? Something that monitors our precise activity throughout the game, granting medal tick to whichever player scores higher on this? I don't know, even this would fall short as some players spend a lot of time on FS helping other. Their contributions wouldn't necessarily get them any recognition on such a system.

 

Personally I think we just need to rename the current medal...

 

That way people who get offended by the game classifying highest xp players as 'best' are assuaged, HCS don't have to assign resources to a new game-wide tracking system and players who have worked towards these medals already aren't completely done-over.

Strongest Player Medal says nothing about the Medal itself, the Medal name should be based on the area it represents, Smasher Medal, Arena Wind Medal, Titan Victories Medal, Bounty Hunter Medal, etc, all those names represents what the medal requires to get it.

And the name is not the focus here, first we need to agree on the change itself, and agree on the new 'Best Player Medal'  to come.

 

 

The current best player medals can't simply be scrapped. So deciding what to rename them to is very important, BEFORE, we introduce a new medal that hopes to better represent an 'overall best player'.

 

So I'm sorry, but I respectfully disagree with your analysis.

It's funny how now that 1600-1800 isn't EoC and more people have reached there that HCS have said they'd add more commons in.

 

Personally I find that quite outrageous, especially given the fact I vehemently argued for this for AGES while I was going through those levels when they were new. Whereby I was told that I should just go hunt somewhere else, or "high levels have it good enough already" etc etc

 

They should stay as they are, I find they idea of them being changed now to frankly be disgusting and a slap in the face.

I wish we could focus more on quality than quantity.

 

Some of us do pay attention when we hunt, read the quest stories and would like to actually have usable gear from our hunts.

 

You know, instead of just blindly bashing through mindless, pointless and boring xp machine maps jumping from one LE set into the next (identical but higher level) LE set.

 

If it sounds like I am disillusioned, I am.
