#917486 Could we have a better notification that our composing pots are ready?

Posted by Mister Doom on 30 January 2015 - 05:56

I think the log system notification should be bypassed altogether.

Why not add a proper box link to the left hand sidebar like we get when we have items in our mailbox?

Could have it linked directly to the composing page instead of collect/discard, since from the page it's only one click or the other to do what we want.

#922703 Revenge Attack Option For Returned Attacks

Posted by BadPenny on 07 March 2015 - 05:34

Although getting bountied (or revenge hit, as the case may be) for a deflected hit is annoying, I fully understand that my intent was there....  When a guy tries to rob a liquor store and the clerk beats him up and he gets arrested, he still gets the same sentence as he would have if he had succeeded and gotten caught at a later date..... Same concept here should apply ;)

#922700 Revenge Attack Option For Returned Attacks

Posted by Rocknoor on 07 March 2015 - 05:30

the current PvP system gives the attacked the same advantage that the attacker has, to choose the time and place of the attack without giving any side an advantage, BOTH sides have the SAME RISK

Before you begin with the defense that the non-PvP'er can take 5 from the initiating PvP'er, most non-PvP'ers don't have those kinds of contacts where every PvP'er has allies that will "defend their friend no matter what".

here you are proving my point that the "revenge attack" mainly benefits those NON-PvPers (who are against xp loss & want "safe pvp")

Mary, You as a PvP'er attacking at your time of choosing is "Safe PvP" Everyone knows that 100 stamming a TED player is an automatic loss of 5 levels, 10 stam clear a TED bounty lose 5 levels, 100 stam clear a TED bounty lose 5 levels, hit a TED player back that 100 stammed you lose 5 levels.  Mary as a TED guild mate you have nothing but "safe PvP".

This is not diluting PvP it is leveling the playing field between PvP'ers and non-PvP'ers.

it is diluting PvP because this "revenge attack" would for most NON-PvPers replace the placing of bounties which would be very bad for the BB because like I mentioned before, NON-PvPers would get FREE PvP prestige with hardly any risk + do not need to pay gold / FSP & bounty-tickets !!!

The Bounty Board is dead because it is not punishment anymore. It is generally populated by TED players who are cleared by their "friends". So why should a Non-PvP'er pay gold or FSP to enrich a "friend" of the person that cost them gold and XP.  Want to see the Bounty Board come back to life, put in a no counter-bounty provision, the Bounty Board as constituted right now is a joke.  Why shouldn't Non-PvP'ers get FREE PvP prestige as you call it, you get it when you attack an unbuffed target, your friends get it on the BB when they clear you as there is no Bounty Hunter XP loss on a loss but they get that FREE PvP point for every win. Personally I think the "revenge" hit is one of the better ideas to come out about increasing PvP activity.

#921814 A lowbie help system

Posted by Leafa on 27 February 2015 - 16:08

Greetings from a new fan, Holy Ghost!!

So great to hear of top-level gamers who haven't forgotten where they came from, so gracious and willing to come down off the mountain to help out groping newbies and lowbies and other babes in woods!! You're a guy of my heart, Holy Ghost! If I were a Marine in your platoon I'd follow you thru the gates of hell itself!!  :D

Myself, I'd love to finally break solo and take my first guild/team play into a dungeon or arena but I'm kind of skittish to do it now because of my experience in Royal Quest and Onigiri (the only other MMOs I've played since getting into this on and off almost two years ago) where high-level players tended to get pushy and bossy and nit-picky impatient with newbies who are just making their first team foray into a dungeon! Mixed Hi/Lo-level guilds and teams just don't work for me it seems. Rather I'd like to join a guild or team of near-same level players who are as green as I am at learning the ropes -- ideally under the guidance of a kindly Obi Wan as yourself!   ;)

Great to hear of you and keep up the care!  :)

Leafa

(who loves tales like "The Prince & The Pauper " and "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" where high royalty learn what life is like in the dog-eat-dog gutter on the sly!)  :)

daily quests would be fun.. a reputation or token reward system?

Hrm. I wonder.......

#922550 Daily, Weekly, Random Event Ideas..

I have colossal amounts of notes from this thread. I have them stored for the next meeting that we have. There's some real gold in this thread that I'd like to see implemented.

#905150 Daily, Weekly, Random Event Ideas..

Posted by BigGrim on 27 November 2014 - 11:13

Daily Quests.. Can have up to 5 (or another random number) quests within your daily log (will limit hoarding of dailies)

Kill a specific number of a certain creature type (normal champion, elite, super elite, or titan) or/and class (human, vermin, undead, dragon, greenskin, demon, golem, dwarf, feline, elf, avian, aquatic, plant, canine, reptile, beast, mechanical, mounted, or magical) within a specific number of levels from you..

Get a specific number of drops of a certain item from a creature within a specific number of levels from you -  by item type or/and rarity..

Complete a specific number of quests..

Visit a specific number of Realms..

Capture (or Pray - possible new feature?) at a specific number of Relics (really think we should start honoring these relics more)

Buy an item from a specific number of different shops..

Gain a specific number of PvP Prestige..

Steal a specific amount of gold..

Gain a specific amount of a specific fragment..

Cast a specific amount of buffs on different players..

Equip a specific amount of different sets/items..

Drink a specific amount of different potions..

Pray to one of the four Gods..

Win a specific amount of Arenas..

Craft a Perfect item..

Fully forge an item..

Post a message in the Shoutbox/FSBox..

Deposit a certain amount of gold into your bank or your guild's..

Sell/Buy a certain amount of FSP on the Market..

Invent a specific amount of potions or items..

Sell/Buy an item from the Auction House..

Purchase every different potion from the Potion Bazaar..

Something with medals..

... i'm just spew'n from random aspects.. dailies should vary in difficultly to allow more players to take part.. naturally some of the quests are going to be hard or maybe improbable due to level or other factors but when can just skip those and hopefully complete them when they come around again ..

Rewards for daily quests..

I've been thinking about certain rewards and systems..  Might as well get simple with it and just give out a certain % of XP .. 10% or more would be a great reward.. you could gain a level from 10 quests over the course of 10 days.. that would be an excellent and fun boost..

Holy toot! That's a lotta ideas! I'll put these on a notepad and see if a daily quest function is something we could add. I hope so. I like the idea. There are so many facets of the game we could incorporate into such a feature.

#922506 Allow me some suggestions for a better Game

Posted by victor1gr on 05 March 2015 - 09:37

Thank you all so much for finding the time to read this and provide meaningful feedback

Just one comment:

Since I've quit donating for a number of reasons I could agree with this sentiment. However I can also see the reluctance by HCS since it would hamper their revenues when adding availability to upgrades through gold. The bottom line has always been first and foremost in my opinion of course...

This is a common misconception that if you give some premium upgrades for free or for gold, revenues will decrease.

This is not always true. Giving a player +200 max stam after finishing a quest (or through gold upgrades), doesn't mean that the player will not want to have more (which will make him donate). There are players in the game with 100k max stam and they still buy more...

In fact, giving players a free taste of premium upgrades increases the chances of staying in game and donating. I'm sure that even the free booster pack on June 2013 (that was a major free giveaway) had a great positive impact on the game bringing in more players and making them stay longer. 2 of my recruits only play today because of this pack!! A guildmate donated for the first time 1 week after he got the pack

So please stop thinking that if HCS provide some more gold upgrades, people will stop donating.

#922479 In defense of the monsters in fs...

I feel bad that these beasties are so poor.  Please raise the minimum wage for monsters, so they can afford to feed their many families, which in turn provides us with game to sport upon........

Well it doesn't really matter since we all came from some sun that went supernova millions of years ago. Also we are nothing but vibrating atoms and the frequency of that vibration gives everything its appearance.

#922303 XP Loss By Bounty Hunter

Posted by yotekiller on 03 March 2015 - 18:20

Honor buff doesn't work on BB for defender, are you going to allow it for attacker or will they also be subject to full XP loss?

Maybe it's the medication, but art is looking crisp these days.

Beasties above 1000 heading out in the near future?

#921855 Last Ditch(no pun intended) effort at salvation

Posted by Pardoux on 27 February 2015 - 20:51

I don't see that this offers anything to levellers. Indeed, by making more gold get transferred to the attacker, you make it more likely that people will get hit (with lower gold-in-hand needed for the attacker to think it worth their "risk"). So the net effect could so easily be as much XP loss and more gold loss from more hits.

I'd not thought of it that way, but yes, now you mention it, I agree with you.

Just wish the cows would outline their idea for the new PvP system so that ...

1. We can all stop speculating about what it may be

and

2. We can offer our feedback on it

#920948 What DON'T you like about PvP?

Posted by sweetlou on 21 February 2015 - 05:13

You are the only one using the label..

What reality am I in? One where I'm not ignorant or oblivious to how players use PvP in this game.. I was in the warrior kings throughout the whole summer. I know about terrorizing players through PvP. To ignore what I witnessed and was apart of, would to be living outside reality..

Trying to gain some credibility by name dropping is arrogant. Now you want to come off as an informant ready to tell all with Geraldo Rivera-esque integrity. Nobody cares. Instead of feeding more hysterical logs into the flames, try making a few more threads to moderate.
