Hey folks,

 

Time for a development update from the team, I've mentioned in a few other threads what the team has been working on but it's time to share it with the community.

 

Game Update 1.33 - June 18th

 

We're planning to release game update 1.33 next week, this will feature an increased level cap for skills, professions and character level to 49. Players will be able to enter the mysterious Crannoch Castle and craft new and powerful equipment which will prepare them for the release of our first level 50 dungeon later this year.

Summer Event! - July 22nd

 

We're also going to bring you an all new summer event this holiday season, this event will feature a brand new realm, new enemies, cool new attire and more!

Scribe Profession and Event - TBC

 

With the next update players will notice a new crafting profession has appeared in your skill book, the scribe. This profession will be released at the same time as a special event later this year. In this event we will be introducing a new type of reward - Spectral items. Spectral items have a ghostly appearance and cannot be repaired but can offer increase gathering and crafting speed, they will however loose durability during this process.

The scribe will use foraged material and wood, to create parchment, pulp, pigments and ink. Players will then be able to collect items from the event to craft nameplates, that will let them rename pets, weapons and bags. In addition to this the scribe will be able to craft 'Gifts' which will grant the player's current group with any missing class specific buffs (i.e. Invigorate) however at maximum level the scribe will be able to improve on the version available from the talent tree.

 

Guilds - TBC

 

The back-end for our guild system is very close to completion, and we've started designing the user-interface. Currently guilds consist of a name, tag, description, message of the day and each member within the guild can be assigned a rank. We see this as phase 1 of guilds, we plan to add phase 2 to allow guilds to contain stats, achievements, currency and more.

 

Drateol's Lab - TBC
 

Drateol's Lab is around 90% ready, we're adding the final armor sets and balancing the boss encounters and mechanics. Here's the extracts from the founders art-book with what to expect from this dungeon.

This dungeon will feature 4 challenging boss fights and a few mini-bosses as the battle with creator of the 'Plague' will not be an easy one! This will also be the first dungeon where the players will have to deal with 2 Elites at the same time, Drateol really is well protected!

 

Future

 

Beyond all this, our team is certainly aware of other issues with the game and problems players are having, we'll do our very best to tackle some of these and release them with some of the above scheduled work. We appreciate all your feedback and we'll do our best to answer any questions you may have!

I'm quite a bit annoyed that Snorty is going to be just given away for free after I spent 4000 EP on it. I guess I was right not to spend any more cash on this game.

 

Also the new craft will force a good talent to be obsolete when mastered. That seems a bit sloppy to me. Also, it seems to promote less party variety, and more of the same players staying in their own little group. For such a small player base, is that a good thing?

 

I shouldn't just post negative. I am thankful that there is a new dungeon. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to run it. No luck at all with ICC yet after playing for a month.

 

QUESTION:

Are any of the bosses in the lev 49 or 50 dungeons using a ranged attack? No one uses diamonds because the dungeons don't ever have bosses with that attack, which is totally messing up PvP. ICC resulted in everyone going full Opals, which totally screwed over all Mages and Prophets in PvP.

I hope that as the lvl 49 dungeon comes out, even though we will not be lvl 50 I hope that the Cows will not forget that the set that we get in dungeon should be usable at lvl 49 unless they are raising it to 50 with the dungeon... it is good to run the dungeon but will be annoyed if I cannot use it when im max lvl

Honestly I am drooling over the prospect of the spectral items and the scribe skill.

 

A few quesitons, is there a rough estimate for the ETA of the event and its duration - I am on holidays 4th - 11th July, really hope I don't miss it.

 

Also, you say spectral items can't be repaired, but do they get damaged by the act of crafting?

 

For example the hammer shown in the post is for armorsmithing, if it gets damaged in combat I would never wear it which means I would only equip while crafting. So unless the skill gives damage (hopefully not) the hammer would be a permanent boost to my skilling speed?

 

Really excited for these coming updates :wub:

Don't forget about the usual bugs that come along with each upadate, so we better be prepared for a lot of broken stuff :D

reading this post i remember someone foresaw a long time ago and told me that when guilds came out they would be nothing else than just a name and rank fr members... i can`t remember who was it but dude you were so right... kind of hoped for guilds to come out a more complete since this is no doubt the most acclaimed feature by the players and one of the keys for eldevin future but oh well, gotta suit ourselves with what there is. more Half-done stuff

Thank-you for the update!

 

I, for one, appreciate that the devs listened to the community and are working to resolve some of the issues that have been stated.

 

Yet still people complain. I guess you can't please everyone no matter what you do. Some people sure expect a lot for their money (oh wait, this is f2p).

Let me answer a few questions.

 

Future bosses will indeed be varied in the types of attacks done.

 

The idea behind scribes crafting gifts will allow you to obtain a group buff for a class that your group lacks, the higher level ones shouldn't make talents obsolete due to the materials cost.

 

The summer event will last a few weeks so people on vacation will have a chance to participate. 

 

Spectral items will loose durability when being used to speed up gathering and crafting speed.

 

We won't be releasing guilds with just phase 1, we'll be aiming for guilds to have more depth, I just wanted you to know phase 1 is complete internally.

 

Hope this clears up a few things!

Looks nice! Can't wait for the first of the tier 4 items. And now I'm curious to how scribes will work with Farming too. It would be nice for ramie I bet.

And now I can finally name my bluppity. However do people still see the kind of pet when they click on it? Like "pet name" (Bluppity) or whatever. As some pets I don't know their names and it'd be nice to click on it and see.

And you guys did a good job on the art-book by the way. <3 Hopefully in the future we'll see another art-book.

So...Auction House? I though the whole point of releasing the mailbox was that it would lead to auction house being release soon. It was implied that Mailbox was basically phase 1 in creating an Auction House.

-New content is never bad I guess. Hopefully these new and powerful equipments will provide some variety into the equipment pool that is sorely lacking in Eldevin (everyone level 47 have the level 45 jewel and dungeon set, because there is no other choice). But it really have to be alot, not just 1 set per class and thats it...BTW how hard is it to have multiple sets of the same name with different stats? It seems like it doesnt take much since all you are doing is transfering points from one attribute to another. Different combination provides different bonuses?

-Hope the new skill is more involved than the old ones. Because the old ones is basically buy the require materials after gather and click create all, then afk. 

- The crafting system in the game felt like one of those throw in just cause an MMORPG need to have some type of crafting.

 

-Is the scribe thing that book thing that used to drop from green dragon in beta? That thing grated some buff right? Maybe Im not remembering things correctly.
