Sometime your game simply won't load, there is a variety of possible causes for this and I'm just going to outline them in one post.

Eldevin requires Java 7 you can download it here: http://www.java.com/en/download/

Minimum Requirements:
  • Dual-Core Processor Processor
  • 1024 Mb RAM
  • 50 Mb HardDisk Space
  • Java JRE (Minimum version 7).

Installing Java:

Before installing Java 7 make sure all old versions of Java are uninstalled.

If you are using a 32 bit browser you will need to install 32 bit Java, however if you have a 64 bit browser you will need to install 64 bit Java. It is possible to install both.

Tutorials

To clear your cache: http://www.java.com/...lugin_cache.xml

To make sure Java is installed and functioning correctly: http://www.java.com/...ad/testjava.jsp

Opening the Java console: http://www.java.com/...javaconsole.xml

Q: I have managed to log in before, but realm X does not load for me and I am stuck

A: Try to clear your Java cache by following this guide: http://www.java.com/...lugin_cache.xml. If it's still not loading after you clear your cache, please submit a bug report as sometimes the content delivery network has been know to serve invalid files from time to time.

Q: The Java plugin doesn't load and when I visit http://www.java.com/...ad/testjava.jsp it fails

A: There is a number of reasons this could fail and it's either your Java installation or an aggressive anti virus solution that is stopping the Java plugin from running. Please make sure Java is installed correctly and no older versions of Java are present. Make sure you have the correct version of Java installed, i.e.: 32 bit/64 bit. Some users have also experienced problems with antivirus solutions (i.e.: Norton, Kaspersky etc.) disabling Java.

Q: After playing for a while I get a white screen

A: Usually this means Java has crashed because it's run out of memory. If possible provide us a ticket with your Java console log. If this happens frequently you can try safe mode which uses less memory: https://www.eldevin....y?safemode=true

Q: I can reach the login screen but cannot connect to the server

A: If the server is running normally and we are not performing maintenance then it might be that your firewall/router/internet service provider is blocking port 7777/7778 which Eldevin requires to connect to the server.

Q: My game is stuck saying executing core/loading core

A: Please open a bug report with a copy of your Java console log, you can follow this guide to showing the console: http://www.java.com/...javaconsole.xml

Q: My browser says Java is disabled

A: Make sure Java is enabled in the Java control panel and the plugin is enabled in your browser.

Q: When I press play it keeps telling me my email is not validated

A: It might take a few minutes for the email to arrive. Make sure to check your spam folder for the email. If you have never received an email at all, please file a support ticket: https://www.huntedcow.com/support

Q: The game does not work on Mac/Linux

A: Make sure you have Java 7 installed. If you are using the openJDK try Oracle's JDK and vice versa.

If you need further Java help you can go to the Java help page: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/

After some aggravation, time, and my friend wireshark- I would also like to note I needed to allow ports 57690 and 57607.

I am in the game but felt compelled to share!

I am getting an error stating that the certificate cannot be validated when I try to load the game.  I never had any problems before.  I have made sure that everything is allowed and have cleared cache.  Any ideas?

EDIT: Also tried reinstalling Java.

SOLVED:  Changing "Check for certificate revocation" setting from 3rd to1st setting (see attached image) on java control panel solved the problem.

Hey. The problem I have is that the game loads, but then once it finishes the page refreshes and it starts loading again. It appears to be in an infinite loop.

Note that I played fine yesterday.

As a last resort you can go into your control panel (windows 7) and click on "system" and go into "advanced system settings".
Now there should be a tab called "advanced".
In this tab there is a button at the bottom called "Environment Variables"
Select the "New..." button in the top section labelled User Variables
Set the variable name to: _JAVA_OPTIONS
Set the variable value to: -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true

Make sure to restart your browser.

NOTE: If this doesn't fix the issue it's probably better to delete that variable.

NOTE: Modifying the environment variables can be risky (i.e.: if you accidentally delete something you shouldn't)

I have tried everything, this game still does not play on any browser, connecting to server

It's also likely your firewall is blocking the connection.

So, I have tried everything, including the "last resort" posted above and playing in safe mode.  Nothing seems to work.  I can load the game and play just fine.  But after a few minutes, 5 to 10.  The game either freezes or flips to a white screen.  I can always reload and play more, but only for a few minutes until the problem occurs again.

Would love any suggestions, just started playing and was really liking Eldevin :(

Here is another tip. Select "Configure Java" from your start programs. Select security tab. Select "Edit Site List" button. Now you need to add TWO sites.

Once you have done this, as it says in Java security: "Applications run from the sites listed below will be allowed to run after the appropriate security prompts".

It only happens to me with when entering "EK West" realm ---- and it happens consistently/ALOT.  NO where else... hence I try to avoid EK West whenever possible.

Edit: I use waterfox - which caused probs on wordplayer.com for lack of an NT6.1 version number --- the "6.1" aforementioned. This EK West thing has been going since day one --- after beta (as i recall).

Going to the download page for Java produces this message:

Chrome does not support Java 7 on Mac OS X. Java 7 runs only on 64-bit browsers and Chrome is a 32-bit browser.

Does this effectively mean that I can't play this game on Chome on a mac at all? I'd really rather not use Safari.

I don't know about other versions of Java, but this is true for the standard Oracle Java.  My Mac is too old (retired) to test anything, but Firefox should work.  From java.com:  (http://java.com/en/d...aq/java_mac.xml)

Why can't I use Chrome with Java 7 on my Mac?

Chrome is a 32-bit browser. A 64-bit browser (Safari or Firefox, for example) is required to run Java 7 on Mac OS X. 32-bit browsers such as Chrome do not support Java 7 on the Mac platform.

I get this error

gbloader.GBAppletLoader.class when I try to play

Edit: I opened the javaconsole and cleared the crosscache and reloaded the something policy. It worked. Anyone else who experiences this problem should try it.

Is the game supposed to download everytime you play? Because whenever I play it downloads and I have to wait an hour before playing.
