theres already a buff marketplace. What benefit would it have for having everything displayed?
Next up on suggestions:
Make the backpack & the Setup lineout visible for other players.
What if you have preferred buffers and just want to keep up to date on the latest buff packs? You're not gaining anything by knowing their catalog, except being able to buy from a person you trust.. I too have had problems buying from certain players because i couldn't sift through the mass amount of players doing it

Loyalty to your friends and your guild would be the reason you lose your XP when you leave. If hunting titans is worth more than being with your friends, you made your decision very easy.
I think Guild XP should continue to be lost upon leaving

#849132 A Re-formed PvP Ladder is due I think ?

QuoteShadow19231, on 12 Feb 2014 - 23:32, said:I don't know how much support I am getting, and whether or not it's sympathy support, but I am interested in the proposal of upgrades for winning ladders.
Have everyday be a predetermined upgrade piece. Basically as an example : Mondays only you can earn 1/8th of a Backpack slot.. ( With the business model of you'd have to win 8 Monday’s for a backpack. Tuesdays you get 1/20th of a 100 stamina reward. I don't really know if that number is accurate to 20 days’ worth of work, but all these can be adjusted.
Here's the problem with what I'm proposing, it means that much less fsp are being potentially bought to upgrade your character and less money coming in for the company. With that, I doubt this will fly. I do still think it'll make ladders active again.
I'm not too noticed when it comes to the forums. So, I never really think of ideas to help, and that's the reason why what i usually come up with is half-baked, despite it coming from the heart.
I can respect your train of thought and your suggestion here - but as you already stated by implementing this would hurt the cash flow for devs and overall hurt the community and game so using or creating upgrades through the pvp ladder would be a mistake whether its stam - back back - or even forgeing gear - None of this would propose positive turn around for the game or our devs. However allow me to explain this in depth.
PvP = Huge donations and big dollars for devs, players within our community as well. - Regardless as to whether they are strict to only PvPing or strict to only Pveing or etc. Big dots = big donations from all - Let me explain why.
1. PvP - Rule of thumb to PvP one needs gear. Gear costs dots. Then as the player gains more an more experience they realize they need a variety of gear to defeat different sets - be hunting - defense - or armor based kits - this is achievable through ... More gear - more dots spent acquiring gear. Guilds carry gear usually based soloy for hunting needs - some carry more variety. However due to the fact that the majority of guilds carry a variety of players - gear is usually recalled fairly often so more often then not Pvpers usually try to acquire their own personal gear for this type of sport or play which in turn create more donations and a higher revenue stream for the devs here.
2. PvPers also require a certain amount of buffs - depending on the players (attacker) gear and skill - buffs may consist from a handful to an overwhelming out ( the targets gear and buffs also play a big part in this factor as well) Pvpers depending on their level - their stam bank - usually out source their buffs which = More dots going out - although the new buff market helps greatly still dots and gold are spent - Who receives all of this dots and gold - other players that are selling and usually Leveling.
3. Another line of PvP revenue stems into the communities Auction House - where else does someone find a variety of gear to buy - but PvPers just like their cousin the Levelers often buy Potions as well - So the more that are Pvping - the more stimulated the AH is and the higher demand for certain or all potions - price goes up. Who in turn reaps those rewards - Our in game Potion makers.
4. Another example of a PvP revenue line is: PvP Protection - Now Naturally not all people enjoy losing Xp and for some they are allowed to protect it which is another hard lining stream for our game - our community - and devs.
5. Outside of PvP Protection - we have people who donate to level faster - due to personal goals - level achievements or simple to get out of some PvPers range.
6. Now Let's talk about the Bounty Board: How did they end up their - Not everyone plays the PvP Ladder right now and some take advantage of stealing gold and their for are placed on the B.B. - Another financial institute where people come to clear others and gain rewards - another forum for PvP but still stems from PvP.
7. S.E. Hunters = How are they involved in PvP ? Those who enjoy the hunt of SE's make their profits through supply and demand just as our community potion makers - or Auction House traders who sell for a living all do - and talk to any of them and ask when is their most profitable season here in FS? It's usually when guilds are waring with one an other lol over what ever - or if their is something new - that people are going crazy for ...
8. Avatar makers - often make good dots for PvP - to poke fun of something or have something implied etc.
Bottom line here as explained is PvP brings in a lot of money - it helps support the community through a variety of ways it's very existences is vital and important to this game especially. PvP should be encouraged not just due to all it's amazing benefits but it also creates interaction between players where they talk and communicate - in which many friendships have been created as well
With new PvP Ladder incentives - possibly New GvG Ladder incentives it wouldn't be far fetched to see many become more active then they already are now - To see a surge in the community and AH an many other areas of the game as I have explained. Lots of donations - lots of dot spending - Lots of rewards as well whether they are from a gear stand point - a financial stand point - a moral booster - Many possibilities here with positive PvP incentives.
Sorry it's super long and detailed but perhaps needed to bring light to things

I think you've made all valid points. I guess where we can go from here is examine how dead the ladder actually is, what would be incentive to play it, and how to not disrupt the balance of donations and such.
We both can agree that in the case of my ladder, something needs to change. The way i see it: The ladder is for those who are smart enough to get free points and who are willing to possibly be hit. Although, when my ladder was serious, I never lost enough XP to consider what I'm doing. The thing is, It seems scary, it seems like it's counter-productive, trading xp for tokens, but it's not that at all. Everyone on my board and everyone who's been there when i've been there has known it's a misinterpreted update, and is there only for free points. The problem is that other people are too scared to take those free points instead of the current people. The reality of it is, is that the 3 that are collecting free points would more than likely leave at the chance of losing XP (from a real ladder person). Or even just someone who wants to get in on the free points instead. Not me, but I've seen it happen.
What i'm thinking right now is that if the Ladder will not be fixed, why have it? It's clearly flawed from a factual standpoint, and no good is coming from it.

It's rotten. Sorry you're not getting to have fun and play. Stay optimistic!

You should see my bracket (450-499).. Such a sad sight.. Let's see, we have Me, a guy who logs in purely to stay active enough to collect FREE points, a guy who is a self-proclaimed pvp god (who's opted out for a week now) and we just lost the ONLY guy actually fighting for first. It's sinful what my ladder is. Just 3 people ( 2 as of 2/12/14) getting points without spending a single stamina. Needless to say, they need to make the rewards worth fighting over. If they gave out upgrades for your character, i would be willing to bet in my bracket at least 5 times the people would try for the first few weeks. I don't know, nobody cares what i say. So, I don't know why i even try.

As suggested awhile ago, I think a pinging system would be suffice for both kinds of people. The kinds who want no automation from people on auto, and the kinds who are online but do not like accepting everytime. So, here's my idea.
When you activate your buff market, it will stay active for as long as your character is "online". Now, the fun begins when it needs to decide between online and auto.
Ways to decide:
Sending a message, be it guild or personal, accepting/initiating trades, attacking people, etc, will "Ping" the service and mark you as truly online
If none of these are the case, then you are considered "on auto"
I don't know, just my idea. Don't entirely know how this can / if it can be implemented

#835851 Buff Marketplace

I would love a way to set an *auto-buff* price, for example if they want SH and i have an auto buff setup for 150k gold for example, or whatever, then if they pick that, then i dont even get a pm asking to be buffed. assuming they have the gold in hand, and i have enough stamina, the transaction happens without my direct input. i would even be willing to have this taxed a bit so i dont have to take the time needed to respond, and a) it worked even while offline, and the money went straight into the bank.
there are several big pros of this i can see, buffs would be required to be only paid in gold. which would rejuvinate the markeplace, and decrease buff costs significantly for those who want to buff at competitive rates. among others for ease of buffing, like other people said, not having to wait for buffs, etc. etc.
you would also be able to pm the person if you wanted to only pay in fsp ofc.
any opinions on this folks?
My opinion is that i spend about 3-4fsp total on buffs. That very rarely is converted to gold. That time when i sent it, till you convert it is prime PvP detail. I feel if this did happen, you should have to deal with the PvP players. Putting it in directly to the bank would leave pvp out altogether

#835771 Want a second look at PvP Retaliation (pay back)
Posted by Shadow19231 on 30 December 2013 - 01:39
i think any support or sympathy you would get from pvpers got burned up in that flaming.
And its not about gold for me and most of the pvpers, most bought their own gear not used someone elses and most buy their own buffs too.
Gold I steal is piddled away usually on arenas, potion bazaar or composing.
You will find very few players supporting themselves with pvp it doesnt pay that well. What you will find is several donate regularly to keep up the lifestyle they enjoy and to keep their swords sharp
But to get back to your main point and how I feel after being told im a dreg on FS society,, retaliation is perfectly fine and available already. The fact of life in FS that you have a hard time finding or paying someone to toss away 1000 stam to do your fights for you seems to be the only issue here.
That's entirely not true. The problem is the way of which i retaliatie. Not only did i get burned when i lost the gold, you expect me to invest even more to get pay back? Not to mention, even if i did hit back, it wouldn't mean jack. That's the real issue here. There is no ways to hit a PvPer where it hurts in comparison to a leveler. It's completed one sided

Because one person wants to lose it doesn't mean everyone else should suffer. No one will willingly but level 165 buffs anyway if they do that their mistake.
I have no intention on going offtopic, as this is an official post from the team themselves. So, the last thing i will say is this : The idea of the buff system is based on the idea you can sell your buffs whichever they are, for whatever price you want. To be told i am not allowed to sell for 5k each, is a complete contradiction to the player made marketplace of buffs. The reason i do sell them that low, and will continue to at 175 "Equal" is because it's become the normal to overcharge for buffs. I'm entirely sick of seeing people with the same mindset as you scam people over. So, to reiterate, i think this system should be where you decide whatever cost you want. If you want to charge 100fsp per buff, that's your choice. However, it shouldn't effect me none.

1 you have of course left out that by level stats are way lower for a mob than player gear, they get much fewer enhancements no structure bonus and by their nature are programmed to be beaten, a player can switch up gear, get buffed and counter what you wear and use. You can get to EoC and not learn much about combat, its basis or have a clue how to defend yourself. Mobs to players are apples to oranges and I stand by what I said, pvp is the check to balance the leveler getting gold from every creature (and being able to multiply that with buffs)
2 I make no excuses, I enjoy taking gold from fools who leave it out. If monsters cry, complain, cuss me out and bounty me so my friends can get paid and a medal to clear me then I would not enjoy hitting players as much as I do. I have met so many friends through pvp and bountys that its the main reason I am still here. The cows have said time and again its a pvp game and always will be they never said its a pve game and only that. Some of us come here for the escape from reality where its a more violent and unforgiving world and enjoy the fantasy of being a barbarian who takes what he wants from the weak. That you have passed through my range without meeting me means you have learned to put your gold away and not be a gvg mark in poor offline gear.
3 see above regarding the admins statements about this but to add to it,, by definition a pve MMO has NO pvp or is limited to a area you have to enter or opt into in order to do. Most give boons for taking this risk,
Some have normal leveling areas and pvp areas where you take a risk of attack for 2x exp
Some put it in an arena or other place where its by entry only
And some places you can only get exp from other players by beating them or a very few NPCs
To put this bluntly that farming game suggested to you above?? thats a strictly pve game, and great example of how lame they are.
4 I learned all I know about gear, stats, combat and buffs from pvp. I see players every day at levels twice and more than mine that still will use CA when SH would work better. I see people every day upset their kill streak ended because they changed levels and didnt check the creature with high def out and had no KE or attack enough to hit them. You may have learned all you felt you needed to know about this "insanely simple concept to understand" but its a joke to say all levelers have.
Finally I would point out that by your own words calling pvpers "leeches" you show exactly which side of this you stand on and a great lack of understanding of the other side,,, its ok I call levelers in someone elses gear thats recalled while they are still selling gold money bunnys XD
Either way the more you insult and demean people who play the pvp aspect of the game the less support and favor you will get in trying to change that system. As I suggested before maybe you should give it a try,, you might like it!
I call them leachers because they specifically live off of PvE players and are 100% dependent on it. In this context, they are leechers.. This is putting all other aspects of PvP aside, and purely looking at 1v1 for gold. @ your reply of "use someone elses gear" It's not being a leech because that original owner agreed to it. No leeching going on . In the case of PvP, you just leech off of someone without their consent. Look, i understand PvP is a touchy topic for all involved. However, people are forgetting that the original topic was about not having any retaliation against pvpers. No matter your fault, how much you lost, etc is beside the point. There is absolutely nothing you can do to a PvPer that effects them. No retaliation is what i want to change. With that said, I think the fix would be what Jedi had said. What we've been putting to the side for our offtopic debate. I think that if we had a no bounty pay back hit, it would mean fix it. However, with a stipulation. The pay back would be nothing more then self justification trying to "Get your moneys worth". The reason i say this is because a 100 stamina to a PvE player not only means loss of gold, but XP. The most of us here have came to the conclusion that PvPers do not mind the xp loss. In fact, one even said they specifically made their character to ensure it wouldn't matter. So, maybe expand onto the idea on a fair playing field.
